Germs – they are all around us. Every single thing you touch has germs on it, even bacteria and other things you would rather not think about.
I’m not a “germophobe,” but I do take care to rid my home of as many nasty germs and other things that can make you sick. For example, I wipe down or spray door handles, remote controls, light switches, car keys and other household items with Lysol spray or wipes. I don’t consider my home truly clean if I haven’t wiped or sprayed for germs. I’d like to think that I’m helping to protect my family.
Even when we go out publically I do my best to make sure what we handle is free and clear from germs. I know it’s not always possible, but I do the best I can.
These days most people have their cell phone practically glued to their hands. Are you one of those people?
Do you ever stop to think about the surfaces you put your phone down on – the public restroom sink, your own bathroom sink, restaurant tables, bus seats, your desk at work… You have to put your phone down eventually. Do you know exactly what is on those surfaces you are resting your phone on? I bet a lot of them are covered in germs, bacteria and who knows what else.
People are just as likely to get sick from their phones as from handles of the bathroom. – – Dr. Cain, Wall Street Journal.
When people in New York City were asked which they thought was dirtier — the sole of your shoe, a toilet seat or a cell phone — the answer was overwhelmingly the toilet seats. But they were wrong — your cell phone is more filthy. – ABC News
1 in 6 mobile phones is contaminated with fecal matter. – CNN
I bet after reading the above not-so-fun facts you put your cell phone down. LOL!
Due to the nature of the cell phone it’s not easy to give it a good cleaning. You can wipe them down, but that doesn’t mean you are getting rid of the germs or bacteria.
So how are we to sanitize our cell phones?
Introducing Phone Soap, a new way to clean and sanitize your cell phone.
Phone Soap is NOT actually a soap. It’s just a fun name they gave to the product.
Phone Soap is a small “box” that you rest your cell phone in. When the lid is closed a UV light comes on. The UV light helps to kill germs and bacteria. The light does not heat up so there is no worries about it harming your phone.
I know UV lights are effective for killing germs and bacteria. I have read about it and seen it on TV. Since I am not a scientist I’ll share with you the information about how Phone Soap works from their website.
The two UV-C lamps in PhoneSoap Charger produce a very specific wavelength of light which encompass your phone and pass through the cell walls of bacteria and virus to impair their DNA. Once the DNA is compromised, the cells die and can no longer cause infections or disease. The best part, PhoneSoap Charger kills “SuperBugs” that have developed resistance to the chemicals and antibiotics that used to be effective.
Phone Soap is not as “high tech” as it would seem. It’s a small box that you plug in. There is no coding you need to set up, no connecting to your Wi-Fi – Nothing! Just plug it in to any outlet and you are ready to start destroying all those icky things living on your phone.
Check out just how easy Phone Soap is to use;
Step 1: Lift the lid.
Step 2: Place your phone inside.
Step 3: Plug in your phone if you want it to charge. (Optional)
Step 4: Close the lid. Sanitizing begins and ends automatically. A blue indicator will let you know when the sanitizing is complete.
Step 5: Feel happy because you won’t get sick from your phone.
Step 6: Tell everyone how happy you are that your phone is clean.
It’s so easy – anyone can use Phone Soap.
Phone Soap was built to accommodate most smartphones, even the larger ones. It also has good acoustics so you can hear your phone’s alarm because most likely you’ll want to clean your phone overnight and you wouldn’t want to miss your morning wake up alarm.
I don’t have a way to test the effectiveness of Phone Soap, but I have to believe that it works based on the scientific experiment video found on their website.
My whole family has been using Phone Soap. We take turns. Since the kids are home from school for the summer they use it during the day and my husband and I use it at night.
Knowing what can be found on my phone I will do whatever I can to reduce my risks of getting ill.
There are more gross statistics and information found on the Phone Soap website too. Trust me, when you read it you’ll never look at your phone the same way again.
Phone Soap can be used to sanitize other household items too. As long as it fits in the case it will work.
