DIY Valentine Projects with HP and Snapfish!

Valentine’s Day is just around the corner. Sometimes we simply don’t have the funds to lavish that special someone with $$$$ gifts, flowers or roses. The great thing is that you don’t need to spend a small fortune to show your special someone how much they mean to you. Sometimes all you need is your computer and printer, and a little imagination. 🙂

Here are some great ideas from HP and Snapfish. Most of them can be done for free or will only cost you a few dollars.

Valentine’s Day presents a special opportunity to express how much you care for your friends and loved ones.  Most of us want to find a way to celebrate without spending a ton of money.  Here are a few tips on some DIY Valentine projects using your PC, laptop, or printer to keep your family occupied and your wallet full.

Tip #1: Make it easy for kids to get in the Valentine’s spirit by letting them create custom cards for their class.  Have your kids use apps like Fresh Paint on Windows 8 devices or other drawing apps to craft their own cards and make something really special. Once your kids design their cards, print them out for the class or email them to family members to share the love.

Tip #2: Don’t forget about your family far away.  Use your computer’s built-in webcam to record a video e-card to send to grandparents and other relatives to let them know you’re thinking about them.

Tip #3: Nothing says “I Love You” more than freshly baked cookies.  Have your kids use the Internet to look up their favorite cookie recipe and make a batch for their class.  Be sure to print out a label with the ingredients just in case someone has allergies.

Tip #4: For exchanging Valentine’s at school, make sure your kids have the coolest mailbox.  Download and print a custom Valentine’s mailbox and let them put it together.

Tip #5: If your kids don’t have time to create their own custom Valentine’s, save yourself a few dollars and print them at home from an HP printer.  Sites like HP Creative and Snapfish have a ton of options that would make the perfect Valentine for that special someone.

If you make any of these projects I would love to hear from you. Since we’re snowed in this weekend I think I’m going to try out a few of these with my family.
