Dry Skin

Do you suffer from dry skin? I do. I never used to. I don’t recall dealing with dry skin when I was younger. It seems like in the past 15 years (give or take) my skin has had issues being dry. It’s made even worse in during the winter months. I also wash my hands many times per day, which makes my hands really dry.

I use moisturizer. I keep it everywhere I am – my desk, the bathroom, in my car, in my husband’s car, at work… I apply it frequently throughout the day. I also make sure to apply moisturizer to my body in the AM after my shower and in the PM before I go to bed.

It’s not easy to keep my skin moisturized. I think age has a lot to do with it.

According to data from a 2015 national online survey of over one thousand U.S. women over the age of 18:

Nearly two-thirds of U.S. women report that the older they get, the more difficult it is to keep their skin moisturized.

U.S. women feel an average of six years older when their skin is dry and dull.

56% of women report being just as concerned about the signs of aging from the neck down as they are about the signs of aging on the face.

As you age your skin’s natural renewal cycle slows down. This causes dead skin cells to build up on your skin’s surface making your skin look dull and feel rough. Gross!

In addition, as you age, your oil glands also become less active, making it harder to retain moisture in the skin.

Dull, dry, rough skin can really zap your confidence too. Personally I am ashamed to have people see my hands and feet, which are really dry and horrible looking.

Are you familiar with the brand AmLactin? AmLactin is the #1 moisturizer brand recommended by dermatologists for rough, dry skin.

What makes AmLactin different than other brands on the market is their unique combination of exfoliating alpha-hydroxy acids and hydrating humectants. AmLactin moisturizers help to smooth away roughness and leave you with soft, smooth and healthy-looking skin.

AmLactin has several products that address some major issues that people over 40 deal with. I say “people” because AmLactin products work great for both women and men.

I was sent to review several AmLactin products. I have actually used a few of them in the past (and even currently used one of the products). I have always had positive experiences with the brand, which is why they are one of my “go-to” products.

AmLactin® Moisturizing Body Lotion Go beyond everyday lotions with our powerful alpha-hydroxy therapy. Clinically proven 12% lactic acid, pH-balanced for the skin, boosts the skin’s natural renewal process through gentle exfoliation and deeply moisturizes. Reveals softer, smoother skin.

I have been using this every day when I step out of the shower in the morning, and again at night. It’s really been a great help with my legs most especially. Shaving tends to dry the skin on my legs. Using this lotion after I shower, and most especially after I shave, has helped to keep my legs feeling and looking smooth and soft.

AmLactin® Ultra Hydrating Body Cream Say goodbye to those dry, pesky areas! Our patented ULTRAPLEX® formula gently exfoliates and is clinically proven to deeply hydrate. Helps smooth rough, dry, bumpy skin—including dry skin associated with Keratosis Pilaris (“KP”).

I keep this tube in my purse so I have it with me where ever I go. I have noticed that I do suffer from weird little bumps on my hands, most especially my wrists. I thought it was a rash or something. I never thought it had to do with extremely dry skin. I’ve even noticed a few spots on my legs.

I apply this cream many times throughout the day. It’s helped with really dry patches on my hands and body.

AmLactin® Cerapeutic® Restoring Body Lotion Instantly transform your skin with this unique moisturizer. It’s the only formula to combine clinically proven, patented ULTRAPLEX® and three essential ceramides to relieve extreme dryness for 24 hours. Uncover visibly soft, silky, youthful-looking skin.

I use the Moisturizing Body Lotion on my body in the AM and PM. I use this lotion on my hands at night. As odd as it sounds it almost feels like this lotion puts a “glove” on your hands. You can feel that it’s leaving a subtle “layer” to your skin which I’m assuming is helping to lock moisture in your skin.

I keep this on our sink so the rest of my family can use it too. I know my husband and son have used it (not sure about my daughter).

AmLactin® Foot Cream Kick dry skin for good with daily use of healing foot therapy. Our patented ULTRAPLEX® formula gently exfoliates and is clinically proven to intensely hydrate. Helps prevent splits and cracks while smoothing calluses. Experience touchable, soft feet from heel to toe.

Dry, cracked heels and feet are THE WORSE! I hate it when that happens. This time of year it happens all the time.

Exfoliating the skin on your feet and heels (either with a pumice stone or a device like a Amoped), then applying a generous amount of this cream on your feet literally transforms your feet. You’ll see and feel a difference the very first time you do it. The key is to maintain it. Apply this moisturizer daily (I do it before bed so I now I’m not going to walk on my feet) and exfoliate once a week to keep your feet looking beautiful all year long.

My feet used to be an embarrassment to me – even when it comes to my husband. I didn’t want him to see gross, dry, cracked feet. I want him to see pretty and smooth feet.

Having smooth, soft feet always means that I enjoy more foot massages from my hubby without the embarrassment of having him touch and feel the way my feet were before.

Uncover smooth, radiant skin with AmLactin Alpha-Hydroxy Skin Care. Its unique exfoliating and hydrating alpha-hydroxy therapy gently removes dead skin cells to reveal soft, hydrated skin. I just can’t find a good foot cream – summer will be here before we know it. My skin is dry in the winter so any product would be great to try. Guess as you get older and your skin gets thinner its harder to maintain.
