Are you a “breakfast person?” Normally I’m not, but that is only because on weekday mornings I simply do not have time to make a good breakfast for myself. Normally I’m running out the door carrying a granola bar or something else I can “grab and go.”
I miss the days when I was a stay at home mom and I could make my family a big, hearty breakfast. These days I need to wait until the weekend to do that. That is until I had the chance to try out Hungry Jack’s Hungry Jack Buttermilk Pancake & Waffle Mix. WOW! Talk about easy!
All you need to do with the Hungry Jack’s Hungry Jack Buttermilk Pancake & Waffle Mix is measure out how much you need (depending on the number of average sized pancakes you want to make) and add water. Then you simply mix and pour into your pan. That’s it! Within MINUTES you can have hot, fresh, delicious pancakes on your plate.
Not only are the pancake quick and easy to make – and delicious – they are also good source of calcium and six vitamins plus iron.
To top them off try Hungry Jack Original Syrup. It’s the only leading national brand with a bottle that is designed to fit and heat in the microwave to conveniently provide warm delicious syrup, just like you get at some restaurants. My family LOVES maple syrup and were thrilled they were able to have warmed syrup for their pancakes.
The bottle features an indicator on the label that shows you when it is hot. The bottle is also BPA Free and made for the microwave. It even has a unique shape to fit most microwave AND to reduce spills (nothing worse than trying to wipe up syrup – it’s so sticky!).
Growing up we never used syrup on pancakes. We always used butter and sugar. That is how my mom enjoyed pancakes back in Wales. People look at me like I’m weird when I butter a pancake and sprinkle on some sugar, but it’ oh-so-good!
Now that I know that Hungry Jack’s Hungry Jack Buttermilk Pancake & Waffle Mix is so quick to make I am going to whip some up for me and my family during the week.
They cook even better on a T-fal Opticook Non-Stick Fry Pan.
T-fal is celebrating it’s 60th Anniversary this year. In 1956, T-fal was the very first to invent the non-stick frying pan and pioneered the non-stick cookware category.
We have a few T-fal pans and I love them. We also have the T-fal Opti Grill which we use at least once a week.
My favorite feature of T-fal pans are their patented Thermospot™ technology indicates when the pan is perfectly preheated by the pattern spot changing to solid red. You don’t have to guess when the pan is ready – the pan will let you know.
The T-fal Opticook Non-Stick Fry Pan is the perfect pancake pan. It’s a decent size (you can make 4 regular sized pancakes in the pan). It’s also non-stick and it heats up all the way – it doesn’t leave you with “hot spots” and “cold spots.” The entire pan is the same temperature ensuring that your food cooks evenly.
I was sent some Hungry Jack pancake mix and syrup, as well as the T-fal Opticook Non-Stick Fry Pan, to come up with a great pancake recipe. I was challenged to come up with something creative.
I WISH I could master the art of creating images with pancakes. I tried but they just ended up looking like blobs of pancake mix. Thank goodness there are several servings of pancakes in each box so I was able to come up with something else.
I wanted to try something like Strawberries & Cream, but I wasn’t sure how I wanted to incorporate the cream (whipped topping or something in the mix?). My husband wanted me to make chocolate chip pancakes, which are always good, but it’s not unique.
I love pecans so I decided to try pecans and bananas, but our bananas were not ripe enough, so I just went with pecans. I simply tossed a handful into the pancake mix, mixed well, and prepared the pancakes are I normally would.
I then had the idea of topping the pecan pancakes with Nutella. I was going to try and roll them up (like a crepe) but it never got that far. I just had to eat it right away (it was SO GOOD!). I even sprinkled some extra pecans on top.
It kind of looks like a cookie too (but it’s a pancake).
I am going to try banana and walnut next time. I bet that would take amazing, especially topped with warmed Hungry Jack Original Syrup.
Now that I know how quick and easy it is to make (and create) pancakes using Hungry Jack’s Hungry Jack Buttermilk Pancake & Waffle Mix, Hungry Jack Original Syrup and my T-fal Opticook Non-Stick Fry Pan, I plan on making pancakes more often.
