Am I the only person who likes Fig Newtons? LOL! I love those cookies but whenever I mention them to others they just roll their eyes and say “ewww”. What is wrong with those soft and sweet little squares of figgy goodness? I think they are great, especially with a cup of tea. Mmm… goood!
Have you seen the new Newton Fruit Thin Cookies? They have them in our local grocery stores. If you haven’t seen them yet be on the look out for them because I’m sure they will be coming to a store near you very soon.
My first thought when I saw these cookies is that they were going to be like Fig Newtons (hence the name “Newton”). I couldn’t have been any further from the truth. Newton Fruit Thins are nothing like Fig Newtons.
The new cookies are available in four flavors:
Fig and Honey – Nice cookie. It reminds me of Christmas. Maybe its the fig? All I know is that when I eat them I feel like I should be watching holiday movies and sipping hot chocolate.
Blueberry Brown Sugar – These are my favorites! They really do taste like Blueberries. These are great with a cup of tea or a glass of milk. These cookies disappeared quickly as soon as we opened the package.
Cranberry Citrus Oat – These are my second favorite. I wasn’t sure if I would like the Cranberry and Citrus together but the flavors actually blend perfectly with one another.
Raspberry Chocolate – Believe it or not it really does taste like Raspberry and Chocolate, more so Raspberry.
Each 10.5 ounce package comes with plenty of cookies. A serving size has approximately 140 calories, 5 grams of fat (1.5 saturated), 95 milligrams of sodium, 8 grams of sugar, 2 grams of protien, 8 grams of whole grains and roughly 1-2 grams of fiber.
My kids love the cookies. They are pretty picky about things too.
Personally my favorite time to enjoy these cookies was later afternoon with a cup of hot tea. These are the kinds of cookies you could serve to guests. They are not too fancy and not plain either. Their unique flavor combinations make them stand out from other cookies.
Look for the new Newton Fruit Thin Cookies on a store shelf near you.

I’m eating the Cranberry Citrus Oat as I type this. I was kind of curious about these when I noticed them in passing just a few weeks ago for the first time. I decided to wait for a sale and it was worth the wait. Surprisingly good.
I’m thinking I’ll pick up a bag of at least one other flavor on my way home tonight. It’s good to hear other people enjoy them so I don’t have to worry about getting addicted to another product that gets discontinued.
