French’s New Flavor Infuser Marinades

 Barbecue Steak

Barbecue weather is almost here. We have smelled some barbecues happening in the distance where we live, but we have yet to have our first barbecue of the season. We’re hoping to head upstate to my father’s house and barbecue for my husband’s belated birthday and for my early birthday. My husband is all for the hamburgers and hot dogs. Personally I like grilled barbecue chicken and veggies.

Some people love to marinade their meats before dropping them on the barbecue. Marinading is a great way to flavor your meat.

If you have ever marinated before you know that it can be messy and time consuming. Often meats have to soak in the marinade for a considerable amount of time before the marinade flavor soaks into the protein. Many people marinade the night before or the morning of a backyard barbecue just to make sure the meat has been marinated well.

French’s has come up with a unique idea to infuse flavor into your meats without having to wait too long for the flavor to sink it. Their new product is called French’s Flavor Infuser. Here is a little more information.

French's Flavor Infuser

Backyard grilling just got easier, juicier and more flavorful with French’s new Flavor Infusermarinades!  These unique new marinades, available in four delicious flavors, are a quick and easy way to add flavor to your chicken, steak, pork or fish.  French’s Flavor Infusers™ are ready-to-use and deliver great tasting flavor in just 10 minutes!

French’s Flavor Infuser™ is a fast, no mess alternative to traditional marinades. There’s no mixing, pouring, or plastic bags that can leak. Best of all, they ensure the ability to deliver a delicious, family-friendly meal in under thirty minutes. To infuse your favorite protein with amazing flavor, just snap the cap, inject the infuser tip and squeeze! By injecting the marinade deep into the protein, the flavor is quickly delivered and evenly distributed to all layers of the protein.  Professional chefs and BBQ aficionados have long relied on the injector technique to ensure great flavor from the inside out; now you can, too!

French’s Flavor Infusers™ come in four mouthwatering varieties: Sweet & Tangy Teriyaki, great with chicken or salmon; Classic Steakhouse, ideal for strip steak or London broil; Zesty Italian, also great with chicken, and Caribbean Jerk, perfect with pork tenderloin. French’s Flavor Infusers™ have a suggested retail price of  $2.99 each.

French’s was kind enough to send me their Flavor Infusers to try out with my own family. We don’t have a barbecue but I can grill meats in the oven. My favorite one is Zesty Italian with Sweet & Tangy Teriyaki a close second.

The Flavor Infusers come in a squeeze bottle with a pointy tip. My husband says is looks like a really big needle. :-).

To use simply inject the tip deep into the meat and squeeze. Squeeze slowly! It if do it too quickly the marinade will shoot out all over the place (we learned that lesson right away). Slowly squeeze in the marinade. Depending on the size of your meat you might want to inject the marinade into a few different areas to make sure the flavor soaks into all areas of the meat. We had a huge steak that my family of four was going to share. I squeeze in the marinade in four different locations on the steak just to make sure the marinade would be tasted by everyone. For smaller cuts I’m sure one squirt would be sufficient.

How much you squeeze into it I suppose all depends on the consumer. You can squirt as much or as little as you want. I think it’s all just a matter of “trial and error” to get just the right amount into the meat. Not all meats are made the same way and some meats are thicker than others. For example, the Flavor Infuser was easier to inject and squeeze into chicken than it was steak meat.

Some of the marinade will inevitably ooze back out. It’s OK to just leave it that way if you want, or you can take a spoon or spatula and rub the excess on to the meat or poultry. In fact you can squeeze the remaining marinade on top of you want to add even more flavor.

You have to let the meat or poultry sit for about 10 minutes to let the marinade to fully infuse into it. Then you can grill, barbecue or prepare the meat or poultry any way you want.

The Flavor Infusers are ONE USE ONLY. If you have extra left over in the squeeze tube you need to toss it out. You cannot save it for another use due to contamination. Keep in mind you are injecting it into RAW MEAT. As you know uncooked meat can be dangerous so the last thing you want is to have a product that was inserted into uncooked meat sitting in your fridge for a couple of weeks until you use it again. Eww!!! I can’t even begin to imagine how much bacteria there would be. That is why French’s puts right on the tube that you cannot reuse the left over marinade.

We used the Zesty Italian on chicken breasts and the Sweet & Tangy Teriyaki on steak meat. The flavor does infuse throughout the meat or poultry and you can taste the marinade.

I like that you can quickly add some flavor to your meat or poultry and not have to wait too long for the marinade to absorb in. I also like that there are no extra dishes you need to wash or marinades you need to mix. Simply open the bottle, insert, squeeze and you’re done.

I can’t wait to try the remaining flavors on barbecued meats when we get a chance to barbecue at my father’s house.

You can find the new French’s Flavor Infusers in the marinade aisle of your local grocery store.
