Do you ever find yourself rummaging through your kitchen cabinets and fridge looking for a snack? We all do it. Sometimes we just crave a little something, or we’re looking for something to hold us over until our next meal.
Treats and snacks are a part of life. We all indulge in them. The same holds true for animals. They equally enjoy delicious snacks and treats.
With five cats and a dog I always make sure to have treats on hand. Not only do I use them as reward (in the case of our dog), but I also give them treats because they deserve something special.
Are you familiar with Purina’s Waggin’ Train brand of treats?
Waggin’ Train recently introduced three new varieties that are sure to be a hit with your pup;
- Waggin’ Train Chicken Jerky Minis
- Waggin’ Train Homestyle Chicken Jerky Tenders
- Waggin’ Train Chicken Jerky Curls
I have seen Waggin’ Train in the store but haven’t tried them with our dog Espn until now. Purina was kind enough to send Espn all three of the new varieties to try out. They even sent Espn his own treat jar that I have filled with an assortment of Waggin’ Train treats.
Unlike other pet treats, Waggin’ Train is made with REAL meat (100% chicken) and other ingredients that your dog will love including sweet potatoes and a hint of brown sugar.
Waggin’ Train treats look like jerky that humans would eat. I see no difference between “human jerky” and Waggin’ Train treats for dogs. You can clearly see the meat pieces in both of them.
So far Espn has been thoroughly enjoying the treats. Every time he sees me even remotely near the jar where I keep them he stands at my feet looking up to me. Even if I hadn’t planned on giving him one at that time I feel compelled to give him one because I know he’s anxiously waiting for me to toss one to him.
Waggin’ Train treats are simple. They don’t require a dozen extra ingredients. Dog’s don’t care about stuff like that. They like simple things too.
Dogs are not complex beings. They are happy being your best friend. Take our dog Espn for example. We are his world. He has dozens of toys and plenty of snugly places to sleep. He would rather sit and wait for us to return home on our balcony so he can give us a warm welcome when we get home.
Sometimes he runs out in the stairway to greet my husband when he comes home from work. I think he’s practically airborne going down the stairs because he can’t get down there quick enough to welcome home my husband from work. He does the same for the kids when they get home.
Like most dogs, Espn doesn’t need a lot of stuff to make him happy. He likes to keep it simple. All he wants is good food, clean water and his human family.
Dogs like things simple – so their snacks and foods should be simple too, which is what Waggin’ Train treats set out to do. They are made with just two ingredients – real meat and a vegetable glycerin. They contain no artificial colors, favors or preservatives.

Has your dog tried out the new favors from Waggin’ Treats yet? If not, which flavor do you think he/she would enjoy the most?
