Give a Meal Program from Feeding America

If you read my blog on a regular basis you will know that a lot of things touch my heart. I can’t list them all but you know I have a soft spot for pet related charities/causes and programs that help feed America’s hungry children, such as ConAgra Foods Child Hunger Ends Here program, and Feeding America.

I thought I’d take a moment to share with you some information about a program Feeding America has going on right now called Give A Meal. The goal of this campaign is to provide meals for families in need. These families can be your neighbor, co-worker, someone in your child’s classroom… or maybe even YOU and your family?

For as little as a $1 donation you can provide 8 meals for those in need. That’s right – EIGHT MEALS! Feeding America is able to do this because our their national relationships and efficient local distribution system. That is amazing!

There are other amounts you can donate that will make a huge impact on the lives of others. For example, $21 you can provide two weeks of food for a family and $45 can provide food for a family for an entire month.

This year, as you are doing the “happy dance” over scoring a “must have” gift at a ridiculously inexpensive price, perhaps you can consider using some of the money you saved on the gift to help feed America’s hungry children?

If you would like to learn more about the great work that Feeding America is doing please visit www.FeedingAmerica.org. You can also visit the Give A Meal homepage to make a donation or to learn more about the program.

You can also find Feeding America on Facebook and on Twitter.
