Heaven + URTH Skincare’s Beelieve Deep Hydration Balm

Dry Skin

I am dreading the long, cold winter months. This year I have more reason to dread them. For the past 17+ years I’ve been a stay at home/work from home mom. Now I work part time out of the home. The idea of driving in snow and ice already worries me – and it’s still summer time!

I don’t mind the snow and cold as long as I don’t have to drive in it.

The #1 thing that bothers me the most about the cold weather months is how incredibly dry my skin gets from head to toe. No matter what I do I can’t avoid dry skin.

I’d like to consider myself a moisturizer “snob”. I have tired so many over the years that I know what what works and what doesn’t. I’ll try new products and new and improved products, but it takes a lot to impress me. I usually stick with the same few brands because I know they work and they help my dry, cracked, irritated skin.

I was sent to review an all natural skincare product from Heaven + URTH Skincare called Beelieve Deep Hydration Balm. According to the product’s press release;

Beelieve Facebook

The product was organically inspired out of the treatment rooms at A Little Touch of Heaven Skincare Spa & Boutique in Newport Beach, Calif., and is designed to renew and balance the skin leaving it with a soft, supple and glowing complexion with long-term benefits working to revitalize the skin over time.

Crystal Surmanian and Tanya Robertson, Beelieve product co-developers, were motivated to create the nourishing treatment balm after noticing an overwhelming trend toward their clients’ skin being overly dehydrated. After years of research, the two formulated a multi-purpose balm that fights free radicals and oxidative stress while deeply rehydrating the skin.

“Ninety percent of the people who came in through our spa doors had major skin dehydration problems,” says Surmanian. “Beelieve Deep Hydration Balm is formulated with oils that will help kill bacteria and hydrate the skin without clogging the pores. The oils we use are very similar to the sebum that our skin produces naturally.”

Beelieve balm is made up of nine all-natural ingredients including olive oil, jojoba oil, coconut oil, grapeseed oil, vitamin E, calendula oil, beeswax, lavender oil and orange oil. The balm is esthetician-approved and free of parabens, fragrances and sulfates and is an environmentally-friendly product. The product can be used as treatment for the face, hands, feet, eyes and lips and acts as a moisturizer and makeup primer and remover.

“I’m obsessed with Beelieve!” says Real Housewives of Orange County star, Lizzie Rovsek, who is a loyal consumer of the balm. “I want a bathtub full of it so I can bathe in it!”

Beelieve Deep Hydration Balm can be purchased on www.etsy.com, www.amazon.com and at A Little Touch of Heaven Skincare Spa & Boutique at 3363 Via Lido, Newport Beach, CA 92663. It is available in a convenient travel-sized 2 oz. jar for $39.00 and the full-size 4 oz. jar retails for $73.00.

“We want to educate the public to not be afraid of an oil for the face. In fact, most of our clients’ skin is craving this type of moisture,” says Robertson. “Our clients have become obsessed with this niche product that gives you instant glow. Every jar has our heart and soul in it.”

I received a 2 ounce jar to review. It might sound like a small jar but let me tell you a little bit goes a long way. This jar will last me a long time.

The Beelieve Deep Hydration Balm comes in a burlap-type sack with a cute wooden spoon attached.

The balm looks like petroleum jelly as far as the look and color. The texture is not the same. It starts out “goopy” (for lack of a better description) but the moment you start to rub it on your skin it quickly “melts” and turns into an oil.

A teeny, tiny amount is enough to cover both hands which tend to be the driest area on my body.

Beelieve Deep Hydration Balm can be used on your face, hands, body – anywhere where you need extra moisture and hydration. You can use it to cover big areas (like your hands) or just dab a little on any dry patches you might have.

The product is oily when you apply it to your skin but it does appear to absorb quickly enough. If you find that you have a greasy residue on your skin most likely you applied too much or you didn’t rub it in well enough. That happened to me the first time I used it on my hands. I used way too much.

The product has a pleasant smell. I can’t pinpoint what it smells like to me, but my husband tells me it smells like citrus. He tells me it has a lemon-orange scent. I agree that it does have a bit of a citrus scent but it reminds me of something else that I can’t quite think of what it is. None the less it’s a pleasant scent.

So far I am really enjoying the product. I like that it leaves my hands feeling soft and smooth (and nice smelling!). My hands were really dry before I started to use the product on a regular basis. They are much better now. Even my cuticles seem softer.

I have used the balm on spots here and there too. I sometimes get dry patches on my face so I have dabbed a little of the balm on the spots and it has helped a lot. Because the product is made with natural ingredients I feel OK about applying it to my face.

I’ve used it to remove mascara. I don’t like waterproof mascara because it’s hard to remove. The mascara I have been using is NOT waterproof but it’s just as difficult to remove. The  Beelieve Deep Hydration Balm helps to remove it quickly and easily. I just dab a little on a cotton ball and gently rub it on to my lashes. An added bonus is that its moisturizing the delicate skin around my eyes too.

I might start applying this to the heels of my feet soon too so that I can avoid dry, cracked winter heels. I’ll put on cotton socks after application so that I don’t slide around on the tile floor or get the product all over the carpet.
