IAMS Pup School & Free Book Offer

IAMS Pup School

I’m a “mom” to five cats, a dog and some fish (although I’m fairly certain the fish don’t see me as their mom). I cannot imagine a home without a pet, or in my case, pets. When I was younger we had multiple dogs, two cats, hamsters (7 and one time!), a horse, birds and fish. My favorites are cats and dogs.

All of our pets we’ve adopted when they were babies. When I was younger I never had much to do with house training our dogs. Where we lived the dogs could roam freely in our yard and the woods behind our home. Whenever they had to go to the bathroom we just opened the door and let them out. Of course we kept an eye on them when they were puppies but once they were old enough they let us know when thye wanted to go out or come inside. It wasn’t until we adopted our current dog, Espn (pronounced Es-pin) that I realized just how much world is involved with house training a dog, not to mention other things like teaching him NOT to chew up shoes, the curtains and the kid’s toys.

Let’s face it – puppies are cute! Who doesn’t love a sweet and cuddly puppy. Sadly some people don’t realize just what is involved when they adopt a puppy. Aside from teaching your pup not to do its business on your carpet, you also have to take into consideration vaccinations, vet visits and training in general (meaning teaching your dog not to jump on people, to sit upon command…).
