Imagine getting $5,000 a week, every week, for the rest of your life?

Publishers Clearing House

I know many people envision the day the people with the giant check and bouquet of balloons shows up at your front door. Of course I am referring to the people from Publishers Clearing House. I know many people hope and dream that one day they are one of the many lucky winners from Publishers Clearing House. I’m one of those people.

Last week there was a strange black SUV in our condo complex parking lot. There were two men inside and they stayed in their car for hours. I called my husband and told him about it (I thought it was odd). He said “Maybe it’s Publishers Clearing House waiting for the man with the big check to show up?”

Sadly it wasn’t PCH but rather the Police doing a stakeout (that’s another story… but they did get their man).

Have you heard about Publishers Clearing House “Forever Prize”? If not, it’s one prize you will want to win.

If you are the lucky winner of the Publishers Clearing House “Forever” Prize, not only will you receive a whopping $5,000 EVERY WEEK for the REST OF YOUR LIFE. Not only that but you also get to choose another person (family member, friend…) who will ALSO get $5,000 a week for the rest of their life too.

The winner of this incredible prize will be chosen in August 2013.

Winning the Forever Prize would mean the world to me and my family. The very first thing we would do is buy a house. After living in a one bedroom condo with my two teenagers, husband and our mini-zoo it would mean the world to us to FINALLY have a house where my kids could have their own rooms, my husband and I can sleep in a real bed again (and not on the sofa bed) and our animals would have a yard to run around in instead of our 6′ x 12′ rickety old balcony.

After we bought our house we would pay off the mortgage on our condo, in full, and look for a person or family in need of a home and gift our condo to them as well as pay for our condo complex HOA fees for a few years, so all the family would need to pay for is taxes and the utility bill. Hopefully it would help them to save money so that they can one day buy their own house.

That $5,000 a week for life would ensure that my children can go to college. I could also help other family members who want to go to college. I would also go back to school and FINALLY get my Bachelor’s Degree.

We have two pets with medical conditions. Our eldest cat, Velcro, has Diabetes and requires insulin shots twice a day. Our youngest cat, Bella, has three leaky valves in her heart, bad asthma that requires her to use an inhaler daily – sometimes multiple times a day, and thyroid issues. I need $100 every 50 days for Velrco and $200 every three months for Bella. That doesn’t include other medications, vet visits and testing. Winning the $5,000 a week for life would ensure that our pets have the best medical care that we can provide them and that I would never have to stress out about not being able to afford their medication or vet bills.

We would buy two new cars. Nothing fancy. Just a regular car. And we would take a family trip to Disney World and another one to San Diego and/or Los Angles. If I can get my husband on a plane that flies over the ocean I’d like to take my family to the United Kingdom to visit with my relatives.

Aside from that we would live ordinary lives. We don’t need a huge mansion, designer clothing, exotic vacation or $$$$ cars. That is now how we are. We are humble people and we would lead humble lives.

The rest of the money we would give to our favorite charities. I would love to build a new facility for our local animal shelter. They don’t have enough room for all the animals they receive and it’s been plagued with problems with the roof, air conditioning and other things. I would put aside a lot of the $$ from the $5,000 a week to put towards knocking the place down and building a new place. All of our pets came from that shelter and I want to make sure that all the animals that come through those doors have the best chance at a forever home.

As for who I would gift the other $5,000 week for life to? I would see if I could split it up among family members and our favorite charities. If that was not possible I would give it to my father and ask him to divide it up for other relatives and charities. Of course he can keep some of it too. [:-)] I’m pretty sure my father and step-mother will be well taken care of by us.

  1. I’d love to win this prize, but entering a Publisher’s Clearinghouse giveaway is like agreeing to receive a pound of junk mail a week for the rest of your life (or the equivalent amount of email). It’s a shame, really. I wouldn’t mind a reasonable amount of junk mail or spam, but PCH is way over the top.
