Indulge Yourself in Fat Free, Sugar Free, Calorie Free Fabulous Chocolate

I’d like to think that the title for this post caught some people’s attention.

Most people love chocolate. A little piece of real dark chocolate daily can actually be good for you. I’m referring to read cocoa (like 90% cocoa) not the inexpensive chocolates you find at your grocer’s checkout. Sadly we can’t indulge in a lot of chocolate because it does contain fat, calories and sugar. All the delicious things usually do.

What if there was a way to enjoy chocolate that was fat free, sugar free and calorie free? You are probably thinking that such a chocolate would taste kind of gross. It probably would if I was referring to the kind of chocolate you eat. I’m actually talking about chocolate you can enjoy in the shower.

Eating chocolate in the shower?

Don’t worry… I don’t mean you can enjoy your chocolate in the shower by eating it but rather using it to scrub your body and nourish your skin.

Natura Culina sent me their Spa Day Dynamic Duo of Chocolate Sugar Body Scrub and Organic Lavender Shea Butter to review.

I LOVE bath and body products and I always enjoy trying out new products.

Products came together in this nice little bag.

Products came together in this nice little bag.

As a busy woman and mom I always seem to be on the go-go-go. Between running around with the kids, working on my blog, looking for a job, caring for our mini-z00, keeping the home clean and my family well fed doesn’t leave me a lot of “me time”. Taking some time for yourself doesn’t make you selfish – it makes you human. Everyone needs and deserves a little time to themselves to enjoy the peace and quiet, indulge in something that makes you happy, and decompress and unwind after a busy day.

I try to steal a few moments here and there. It’s a bit easier when my kids are in school. Sometimes the only time I get is when I’m in the shower. That is why I like to enjoy that time as much as possible. Spoiling myself with spa-quality bath and beauty products and filling the bathroom with aromatic scents is something I enjoy doing.

I love body scrubs. I think they are essential for keeping your skin looking healthy. Scrubs remove dry skin and add moisture leaving your skin with a healthy looking glow.

I have tried many body scrubs over the years. Some are great, some are not worth the money I spent on them. Some leave your skin looking beautiful and others leave you – and the shower – with an oily mess.

I was super excited to try the Chocolate Sugar Body Scrub from Natura Culina. It looks like chocolate and it smells like chocolate. It kind of smells like a Tootsie Roll. I honestly did want to lick it but I knew it would taste gross. LOL.

Chocolate Body Scrub

Chocolate Body Scrub

When I used it for the first time in the shower it looked kind of weird. It looked like I had smeared chocolate syrup all over my body. The scrub is brown and therefore it looks brown on your skin when you use it. Don’t worry – it doesn’t stain your skin. In fact the scrub washes off easily and leaves your skin feeling very soft. The scrub also coats your skin in a moisture “barrier” (for lack of a better description) to keep your skin hydrated. You can see this by the way water beads up on your skin after you wash the scrub off. It’s the same way water beads up and rolls off your car after you wax it.

Natura Culina uses organic Cocoa along with some of natures best super oils to help nourish your skin.

Unlike other scrubs I have used in the past the Natura Culina scrub rinses out of your tub and doesn’t leave a slick film behind that can cause you to slip and fall. I have actually thrown out scrubs that left the tub with a oily residue on it. That is a safety issue regardless of how well the scrub worked. The Natura Culina scrub rinsed out of my tub and didn’t leave anything behind.

The scrub alone does wonders for your skin. If you want to give your skin even more moisturizer the Natura Culina Lavender Shea Butter is a great choice.

Shea Butter does amazing things for your skin. It’s like the “queen” of moisturizing products. A little goes a long way too.

Lavender Shea Butter

Lavender Shea Butter

I find that Shea Butter is applied best when you first get out of the shower when your skin is still damp. It makes application easier. Otherwise you might find it hard to spread around.

The Natura Culina Lavender Shea Butter not only left my skin super soft but also smelled wonderful too. Lavender is known for it’s ability to help people to relax. You can use this Shea Butter any time of day but I think right before bedtime is the best because the scent will help lull you to sleep.

I love the scent of Lavender so I can enjoy this product anytime.

It’s especially great on elbows, knees and anywhere you have some rough patches on your skin.

Remember that a little goes a long way. I accidentally put too much on the first time I used the product and it seemed like it would never absorb in my skin so I had to wipe some off. You just need a little bit to enjoy it’s benefits.

Both products get a “two thumbs up” from me.

The Spa Day Dynamic Duo of Chocolate Sugar Body Scrub and Organic Lavender Shea Butter sells for $40 on the Natura Culina website. They also have other combinations such as Lemon & Mint, Orange Blossom, Eucalyptus and a sweet sounding Vanilla & Lavender. Each product is also available individually.

In addition Natura Culina sells face products, body products, soaps, products for men and more.

Natura Culina supports several charities, which I like. The donate a portion of their sales to certain charities. You can read more about it on their website.

They also use natural ingredients in their products and their products are made fresh to order which means the products you receive are made fresh just for you. You don’t have to worry about products that have been sitting on shelves in a storage room for months or years.

For more information or to check out their products visit Natura Culina at www.NaturaCulina.com. You can also find the brand on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and Instagram (NaturaCulina).
