Keaton Simons handwritten Lyrics, CD & Tickets Giveaway (ends 4/27/13)

I have not heard of this artist before, but perhaps you have? His name is Keaton Simons. He’s a former Maverick and CBS recording artist.

Keaton has just released a video for his current single Beautiful Pain.  The video was directed by Nick Spanos and executive produced by long time friend, David Duchovny. Yes – THE David Duchovny, Mulder on The X-Files and Hank Moody on Californication.

“This song has tremendous personal meaning to me. I wanted to show the extraordinary side of real, everyday people, and illustrate that love is worth fighting for,” said Simons when asked about the video’s concept.

Beautiful Pain (available April 30th) was co-produced by Mikal Blue (Colbie Caillat, One Republic) and mastered by Gavin Lurssen of Lurssen Mastering. The album features co-writes with friends and peers Jason Mraz, Jason Reeves, and Glen Phillips (Toad the Wet Sprocket) amongst others.

Here Keaton’s video for Beautiful Pain. You can also see the video here, http://youtu.be/Z2d8r_GIZ9U.

The song makes me thing about what “beautiful pain” might be? Some people might interrupt a tattoo as a beautiful pain. It does hurt – a lot. But in the end you have a beautiful piece of artwork. Other people might consider a gorgeous pair of high heel shoes as beautiful pain – they are beautiful to look at but hurt your feet something fierce.

For me I think beautiful pain would be giving birth to both of my children. It hurt – A LOT – but the end result was a beautiful child. 🙂

What does beautiful pain mean to you?

The song, Beautiful Pain, is available on iTunes.

  1. I’m not in the New York area, but I would love to win the CD!

  2. I guess the most beautifully painful event in my life was moving to So. California. I have always wanted to move away from home and spread my wings, so to speak. I had no idea how hard it was going to be though. I miss my family and friends terribly.

  3. Austin Baroudi says:

I’d have to say moving out of my parents house. It’s much more convenient and easy living where I live now, but I miss them so much.

  4. Nicole chiarello says:

I have been listening to Keaton for about 3ys now. He has an endless amount of talent that goes way beyond his voice. I would love to win this as I have been a fan and supporting him.

The most “Beautiful Pain” I have received in my life are the birth of my most precious gifts my 2 daughters. Anyone who is a parent knows it is the most beautiful and painful experience to watch your children grow as you want to keep them young and innocent forever but it is beautiful to watch as they grow into there own creative and artistic little person.
    Thank you

  5. Brandi D Graves says:

Giving birth to my beautiful daughter is the most beautiful pain that I have ever experienced.

  6. The most beautifully painful event in my life was the birth of my first child. I was in labor for what seemed like forever. There were a ton of issues I will spare you, but in the end I had my beautiful child.

  8. Hey all! I’m taking a bus from Boston to NYC to see the show… so if you happen to win the tickets and have no need for them, keep me in your thoughts! 😉

Oddly, my beautiful pain mirrors the song. I had a love at fist sight moment when I met someone last year. Between travel and other complications, it’s kept us apart. I don’t know that it will ever work itself out, but I currently count that as my beautiful pain. Bittersweet. And just to make it more ironic, my unrequited love is the one that introduced me to Keaton’s music. I guess everything happens for a reason.

  9. Paul Brown says:

I’m experiencing the beautiful pain of an unrequited love. And oddly, this love is the one that introduced me to Keaton’s music.

I lost my finger in a violin accident but I met my spouse as the doctor in the emergency room.

the most beautifully painful thing we have ever been through is a miscarriage, it’s super painful but the fact that we are able to come through stronger and more in love than ever is beautiful!
