Can you believe the Thanksgiving is this week? I sure can’t. In fact, I didn’t believe my husband the other day when he said we needed to pick up a few more things from the store for our Thanksgiving dinner. I honestly thought we had two weeks left. It’s crazy how quickly the holidays sneak up on you. Even Christmas is just weeks away.
With so many families traveling for the holidays, it’s very important to keep kids entertained. Whether you are taking a plane or driving, you want to make sure your kids are kept busy, in a fun way. One way to keep kids busy is to let them play games.
When you are traveling it’s much easier to play a game on a phone or tablet then carry around a traditional board game or puzzle.
As a parent, I would prefer that my kids play traditional games, but I wouldn’t be against my kids playing a game via an app on my phone, iPad or tablet. Thankfully there are plenty of great apps that are not only fun, but they are also educational. Take for example Puzzingo Kids Puzzles.
Puzzingo Kids Puzzles is a top ranking kids puzzle app from 77Sparx with over 8 million downloads and 1 billion plays. The creators, 77Sparx, work to ensure Puzzingo remains the same great, kid-safe experience it always has been.
Puzzingo Puzzles has been highly sought after by parents, guardians, educators and of course, children.
Puzzingo has been awarded:
- Dr. Toy’s 10 Best Children’s Product
- Editor’s Choice
- Best Apps for Kids
- 5 out of 5 by Apps for Homeschooling
Puzzingo Kids Puzzles also has a 4.8 out of 5 stars rating on iTunes.
I have had the opportunity to play around with Puzzingo Kids Puzzles myself.
There are different Puzzingo Kids Puzzles. I would recomment downloading the “pro” version because it gives you access to all the puzzles. If not, you can download the individual Puzzingo Kids Puzzles.
Puzzling is part puzzle, part game, and part learning.
Puzzlingo Kids Puzzles features a mascot called Puzzingo. He appears in all of the games. He’s a colorful, happy clown.
The puzzles are separated by themes, such as dinosaurs, trucks/cars, sports, pirates, fairy tales and pets, just to name a few.
To enjoy Puzzingo Kids Puzzles, simply select the puzzle theme you want to play. On the next screen you’ll see a gift box. When you click on the gift box it will open up to review puzzle pieces that need to be moved to their special spot (you use your finger to move the puzzle pieces around).
The puzzle pieces appear on the right side of the screen and the puzzle its self is on the left side.
Each puzzle piece has a word underneath it. As your child moves the piece to the appropriate spot, the game will verbally say each word. This helps a child to expand his/her vocabulary. It can also help with learning how to spell.
The game also plays fun sound effects to go along with the word and puzzle. The voice that talks throughout the puzzles and games also uses positive words, telling the gamer how wonderful they have done.
After a child completes a puzzle they have the opportunity to play a game based on the theme of the puzzle, or enjoy fun things such as playing with an animal. Some puzzles don’t have a game associated with it, but most do.
The extra games are fun. There are many driving games which I know will appeal to both boys and girls. There are also games of skill, such as “kicking” the soccer ball into the net, or getting the ball into the net while “swimming” in the pool.
There is even a holiday section, which is perfect for this time of year.
As a parent, I appreciate that this app is not only fun and engaging, but that it also teaches children vocabulary words too. Kids don’t know that they are learning. That is a “win-win” situation if you ask me.
Puzzingo Kids Puzzles is available at the Apple store, Google Play and Amazon apps.

77Sparx has another fun game worth checking out called Wonster Words. It’s another fun and educational app for kids.
