Are you looking for a great gift for a ‘tween or teen? I know how hard they can be to buy for these days. Most want gift cards or cash. Call me old fashioned, but I don’t find opening an envelope of cash or a gift card as fun and exciting as opening a tangible gift.
My kids both asked for cash or gift cards. They also asked for things for their cards (new tires and new breaks). I’m pretty sure wrapping tires might be a bit difficult, and for the life of me, I can’t figure out how to wrap new breaks. Ha Ha.
I have two fun gift ideas for the ‘tween or teen in your life. They can also work for younger children. Both items are available from Continuum Games, the same company that brings you Snuggle Monsters.
Many kids these days have smartphones (some have better ones that I do). Texting and emojis are a bit part of their lives (sad to say).
Continuum has a fun product that appeals to cellphone loving kids. It’s called Emoji-Notes Color and Shine.
Emoji-Notes Color & Shine craft kits ($19.99). These kits allow you to color your nightlight and write your own messages. When you’re ready for a change, wipe it clean and color it again. This is a light up message board, night light and craft kit all in one.
Emoji-Notes Color & Shine are available in four different shapes – cellphone, cupcake, ice cream and doughnut.
Each Emoji-Notes Color & Shine also comes with seven special markers and cute emoji discs to add some color and emotion to the design. It also comes with a base with a white LED light that can be dimmed if needed.
To use, simply pop in whatever emoji (or emojis – you can use two at a time) you want to use. Then use the markers to write special messages or designs.
To enjoy, turn out the lights, turn on the Emoji-Notes Color & Shine and watch our design light up the room. It’s really cool. The markers give the design a really cool look in the dark. It’s hard to explain how it looks.
The base has a sleep mode and hour timer, so you can use this as a nightlight too.
I tried to take a good picture of mine, but it didn’t work. I showed how it looks without an emoji (the empty circle). You can use the included emojis or not. It’s up to you.
The text is suppose to be green, and the “Santa” red. In my photo parts of the green look white.
My apologies for the smudge marks. I didn’t realize that until I uploaded the photo. They look A LOT better in person.
A similar product by Continuum Games is their Lumenico SleepyLights™ ($29.99). They are made by Aloka.
SleepLights are similar in the way that they are designs on a clear, plastic background on a base with LED lights.
The cool thing about these is that you can change the color of the design simply by pressing the included remote control. You can also have the product cycle through the different colors and other modes.
I received the Unicorn to review. There are other shapes available such as a mermaid, dinosaur and butterfly.
These not only make great night lights, but they really light up the room and add color to another wise dark room.
I’m an adult and I find this really cool.
I had it on the bookcase next to my desk. I would turn it on and watch it go through all the colors. It’s also fun to change the colors.
Currently mine is packed away (I replaced it with Christmas decorations). I had meant to take a video of it cycling through the colors, but I forgot to. Sorry.
I think both products would make great gifts for the ‘tween, teen or child in your life.
