I have a confession to make. I used to be an “Ebay addict”. I used to bid on things all the time on Ebay. I even sold a lot of things on Ebay too. For a few years Ebay was my life. I would use Ebay to find decor for around my home, collectibles and toys for my kids.
When my kids were little I used to buy a lot of their Christmas presents off of Ebay. We didn’t have much $$$. It was great to get good deals on toys on Ebay. They were “new” to my kids even though they were not brand new and factory sealed (although I did buy brand new toys as often as I could on Ebay).
Yesterday I wrote a post about how I don’t like to go shopping from this point on (from “Black Friday” until after the start of the new year). I prefer to stay at home and shop at my convenience online rather then fight people for parking spots and have to wait on long lines that seem to move at a snails pace.
I haven’t really started shopping yet. I have ONE gift for my daughter. I need to order her something else. Our son has not given us any ideas as to what he wants. Ugh! He’s the only kid I know that DOESN’T want things for Christmas or even his birthday. Meanwhile my daughter has a wish list a mile long.
Did you that Toys R Us has a store front on Ebay? Ebay has changed A LOT since I last used it. Now big brands like Toys R Us have their own Ebay stores. Shopping on Toys R Us’s Ebay store is as convenient and easy as it is shopping on their main website. Best of all you don’ thave to leave the Ebay website so you are free to shop all over Ebay. It’s literally like a “one stop shop” for all your holiday gift needs.
They even have a Ebay Canada store for our friends to the North (plus it would save you on shipping if you need to buy a toy and ship it to Canada – simply place the order from the Ebay Canada store front).
Have you seen the funny commercial on TV with the little girl who wanted a pony for Christmas? I know a lot of children ask for one (I did when I was little). In the commercial the parents get her a REAL pony but quickly realize that they made a huge mistake. It’s funny. You should check it out.

I’ve been doing some browsing on the Toys R Us Ebay store, looking for gifts for my kids as well as my nieces and nephews. Thank goodness non of them want a pony! LOL!
I’ve found some great deals on brand new toys, and I don’t even have to make a trip to my local Toys R Us store too!
Check out the goods (and great deals!) that I found.
XBox 360 with Kinect. We still have our Game Cube. Time for an upgrade. LOL!
FurReal Friends Pony – Baby Butterscotch. My niece LOVES horses! She’s obsessed with horses. She lives, breathes, eats, sleeps horses. She would LOVE this!
K’Nex Amusement Park Ferris Wheel. My son loves to play with Legos. I think he’d like the K’Nex because you can build cooler looking things with them.
Edu Science Astro Nova HD 1000 Young Astronomer’s Reflector Telescope. We’re still debating on getting our son a telescope. He’s never mentioned he wants one, but he does love to look at the moon and stars and he’s always asking questions about them. We think maybe he might enjoy something like this.
Classic Battleship Game (Movie Edition). My husband and I both loved to play this game when we were kids. We keep talking about getting the game for ourselves (of course the kids can play with it too). I would love to get this for my “big kid” (hubby) this holidays season. 🙂
Yapster Blaster Headset. My daughter has been asking for Beats headphones. There is NO WAY I can afford them. Perhaps something like these headphones would work for her.
Super Scrabble Board Game. We have a Scrabble game, but it’s Scrabble Junior. I think it’s time we upgraded to a more grown up one since my kids are older now. My son has always enjoyed the game. He’s really good at it too.
Vintage Playskool Building Bricks. These are NOT from the Toys R Us Ebay store front. These are other toys available on Ebay. I REALLY want to get these. My husband and I both had these growing up. I would play with these for HOURS – literally! My son loves to build with the Legos. What I like about these is that they come with windows, working doors and roof pieces. I think he could have fun building with these. Plus it would be fun to see them again. I loved these as a child.
Vintage 1970’s Tonka Winnebago. This is another Ebay find. Each year I try and find a toy from my husband’s childhood – things he talks fondly of and has great memories attached to them. Over the years I have found him some of his most favorite childhood toys (he keeps them on his desk at work). This year I’m thinking of getting him this old Tonka. He’s talked about it often and I do believe this is the one that he used to have (maybe just a different color). I just have to find a sly way of showing him this photo to make sure before I buy it.
Fisher Price Little People Ronald McDonald. I am tempted to get this toy for myself. 🙂 I collect Fisher Price Little People. I even have my original ones from when I was a little girl (the wooden people!). I have a few rate sets too. I would love to add this little guy to my collection. I am very tempted to buy him.
As you can see you can find A LOT of great toys on Ebay – both new (like the ones you can find on the Toys R Us store front) and used/vintage toys and just about everything in between.
Personally I like buying new products from Ebay to give as gifts. I only buy the vintage stuff for me and my hubby.
My favorite Ebay feature is “Buy-it-Now”. I love knowing I can buy what I want and not have to watch for auctions to end and worry about getting out bid. Getting out bid on something you really want stinks. Plus with Buy-it-Now you know what you are going to pay to get the product you want. With the bidding/auctions you can end up paying A LOT more than you wanted to pay.
If you are looking for some great gift ideas you might want to check out the Ebay Holiday Gifts Guide, www.Ebay.com/evt/Holiday-Gifts.
Did you know that Ebay also have a mobile app? The app makes it very convenient to shop anywhere at any anytime. I downloaded it on my phone (it’s FREE!). I use it to find ideas for gifts for my family. When I’m sitting in my car at the bus stop waiting for my kids to come home I search around Ebay for ideas for gifts for them. I have to admit I find things that I’d love for myself too. LOL!
The app is convenient because everything is right there and easy to access. You can keep track of both items you are buying, bidding on and selling.
I make sure to check out the Deals section daily too. You never know what you are going to find there.
If you would like to learn more about the app visit https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/ebay/id282614216?mt=8. You can also do a search for it on the Apple app store on your smartphone.
Have you checked out Ebay lately? Do you shop or sell on Ebay often? Did you know that many big brands, like Toys R Us, have their own Ebay store fronts? Have you scored any amazing deals on Ebay? I would love to hear from my readers.
To check out Ebay for yourself visit www.Ebay.com. Ebay is also on Twitter (@Ebay) and Facebook (www.Facebook.com/Ebay).
