Later on tonight and possibly on Saturday we’re expecting snow. Blah! I’m so not ready for shoveling out my car and chipping ice from my windshield. Sadly, Winter is a part of life when you live in the Northeast.
My son would live where there is snow 365 days a year. He loves snow. I joke with him that he should apply himself at school and become a scientist that works at the South Pole. 🙂
Being a teenage boy my son grows at an accelerated rate. It seems like yesterday we bought him new boots for Winter. This year we had to get him new ones because he outgrew the other ones, which are hardly worn (we’ll be donating them).
My son is at that age that sometimes fashion speaks louder then function. My daughter is notorious for that. She rather go without wearing a Winter coat so as not to mess up her outfit. Ugh! Kids!
Anyway…
My son wants boots that are cool and look like something my husband would wear. He’s not into “kiddie” boots. My son’s foot is also the same size as my husband. There is a bonus there. My husband can now wear my son’s outgrown shoes.
When I was given the opportunity to try out a new style of boot from Lugz called Brigade Fold I jumped at the opportunity.
The Lugz Brigade Fold boot is available in Black, Wheat or Gray. My son opted for Wheat (center).
These are very attractive boots. They are made with full grain Nubuck leather. They also have a bit of suede around the upper part of the boot. They also feature a durable rubber outsole and a cushioned insole. Â
They also have really deep treads, ideal for stomping around in the snow.
What stands out the most about these boots, compared to other boots my husband or son have owned, is that these are lined with fleece. The fleece lining is all the way down into the boot. The inside is not entirely lined with fleece, but I’d have to say at least 1/2 the boot is.
I like the fleece lining around the ankle area. I think that will provide added warmth and protection for my son when he’s out in the snow. Even the “tongue” of the boot is padded with fleece.
These boots were truly designed to keep your feet warm and feeling good all day.
The boots are called Brigade Fold because you can literally fold the upper part of the boot down and make it a wee bit short and exposing some of the fleece. Essentially it gives you two looks in one. In a way you can have a more casual look (folded down) or a more professional/work look (not folded).
My son prefers the boot boot not folded. That is fine with me. Either way the boots look good.
My son loves these boots. He tells me that they feel really comfy. He was wearing them around the house when he first received them. He didn’t need to break them in either. Sometimes new shoes are stiff, but he tells me these don’t feel like they need to be “broken in”. So far he has not complained about any blisters or anything along those lines.
The Lugz Brigade Fold boot is available on the Lugz website and retail for $99.99. Here is a direct link to the boots, http://www.lugz.com/shop/mens/brigade-fold/MBRFSN-7651.

These are seriously nice boots. Even my husband is considering getting a pair for himself.

It was so nice to wake up this morning and not see the snow they said we might have. Hope we can be as lucky tomorrow.
I love these boots. They look so warm, and I really love the bottoms. Seems the bottoms always wear out or get holes in the boots my husband buys. These look like they would last a while.
Thanks!

These look great! I love that they are lined in fleece. That must feel extra-cozy! I think I might get these for my husband for Valentine’s Day…
