Hippity Hoppity… Spring is on it’s way (or at least we hope so. It’s been a harsh winter).
I am a huge Winnie the Pooh fan. When I have the opportunity to review Winnie the Pooh: Springtime with Roo I jumped on the opportunity (no pun intended – LOL).
This film was actually released in 2004 (I didn’t know that until now) but it being re-released on Blu-ray just in time for Easter.
It’s Easter time in the Hundred Acre Wood and everyone is excited about it – except Rabbit.
You can’t celebrate Easter without doing a little Easter egg hunting. Pooh, Roo, Piglet, Eeyore and Tiger head out to look for eggs. They bump into Rabbit who is not interested in hunting for eggs. All he wants to do is some spring cleaning. He ends up putting his friends to work and have them help him clean. Who wants to clean where there are Easter eggs to be found?
Roo is unhappy and is worried about Rabbit. With Tigger’s help (and the narrator) they help Rabbit to see what life will be like without Easter. Reminiscent of A Christmas Carol, Rabbit gets to visit an Easter from his past, present and future.
Will Roo and Tigger be able to bring back the Easter spirit to Rabbit before it’s too late? To find out you need to pick up a copy of Winnie the Pooh: Springtime with Roo, available on Blu-ray today (March 11, 2014).
I adore anything that has to do with Winnie the Pooh and all his friends. This film did not disappoint me. The story is sweet, the music is catchy and it’s hard not to fall in love with the characters all over again. Even Rabbit who is being a bit of an Easter “Scrooge” in this movie.
I like that this movie doesn’t star Winnie the Pooh. This movie gives other characters a chance to shine – most especially Roo, Tigger and of course Rabbit. All the main characters are there but this film focuses a lot on those three which is a nice change of pace.
The bonus feature is called Get Up and Dance where you and your family can shake your bunny tail to Rabbit’s Easter song.
I tried to find a trailer for the Blu-ray but there is none available. If you visit YouTube you can find a DVD trailer for the film in case you were interested.
The film runs for 65 minutes and would make a great addition to your Family Movie collection or an Easter basket.
Look for Winnie the Pooh: Springtime with Roo where ever movies are sold.
