Now available on Digital HD, Blu-ray and DVD is latest installment in Marvel’s mega-movie franchise – Marvels Avengers: Age of Ultron.
The film stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Samuel L. Jackson, Mark Ruffalo, James Spader, Don Cheadle, Elizabeth Olsen, Paul Bettany, Idris Elba, Anthony Mackie and Cobie Smulders.
This film has an amazing cast. Talk about “star studded!”
In Age of Ultron Tony Stark tries to re-start his peace keeping program. He creates a robot-like create with artificial intelligence as part of the program. That only problem is that the robot/monster takes on a life of his own and plans on creating peace his own way – but mass extinction! It’s up to the Avengers to find a way to stop him before it’s too late.
This film does not give you a moment to settle into your seat and take your first handful of popcorn before the action begins. Within minutes the Avengers are making their way to a Hydra location in order to infiltrate it and put an end to it.
Back to the story…
Tony Starks creation, Ultron, is hell bent on destruction and taking over. He employs a set of “twins” (not really but that is what they are called) – Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver. They were created by Hydra and given powers by a gem stone Hydra had stolen from Loki’s scepter.
When the Avengers retrieve the gem, Tony unwittingly uses it in his Ultron creation. The stone turns his simple, peach keeping robot into a crazed robot out to destroy the human race.
Now it’s up to the Avengers, and some unexpected allies, to put an end to Ultron before it’s too late.
Will they succeed? To find out you need to pick up, or download, a copy of Marvels Avengers: Age of Ultron, now available where ever movies are sold.
This film DID NOT fail to entertain. It was jam-packed with a lot of action, humor and even a budding romance between two Avengers (I won’t tell you which ones – you’ll have to watch the movie to find out).
My husband and kids are not overly familiar with Marvels characters, yet they still found the film to be very entertaining.
We watched the film on Disney Movies Anywhere. There might have been bonus features, but we didn’t keep the end credits on long enough to find out. I do know that there are bonus features on the Blu-ray and DVD versions of the film.

I received along with the movie download code some other goodies including Avengers plates and cups and some of the coolest toys I’ve had the pleasure to play with recently from Hasbro.
I had pictures of the plates and cups “in action,” but I accidentally deleted them from my phone.
My husband thought it would be funny to use/wear all the toys at once.
I received the following toys.
Marvel Avengers: Age of Ultron Iron Man ARC FX Armor gloves – These are fun gloves. One glove does nothing but the other one has a power button (for lack of a better description) in the middle that makes power up/power down sounds as well as other cool sound effects. It’s motion activated, but I mostly pressed down on the button to make the sounds. It lights up too!
I posted a brief video of the glove in action on my Instagram page. You can CLICK HERE to view it or visit my Instagram page directly (SheScribes).
Thor’s Hammer – This is not as heavy as it looks, but it can break things and hurt people. It’s only human nature to want to whack something with it when you hold it in your hands.
When this arrived one of our cats was sitting in the box the toys came in. My husband jokingly said “Whack a Cat” (instead of whack a mole) and pretended to bop her on the head with the hammer (Don’t worry! He didn’t really do it. We love our pets).
Hulk Hands – When you slip these on your hands you automatically want to punch something. LOL!
Hawkeye’s Longshot Bow – I had such a blast playing with this. We all did. It shoots far – and I do mean VERY FAR! The first time I used it (indoors) the “arrow” almost went out the sliding glass door and off our balcony. Thankfully it hit the curtain, which stopped it.
This is not an indoor toy unless you have a lot of indoor space. I would recommend using this ouside so you can really let the arrows fly.
Watch out for dogs. One of our arrows met with an unfortunate end because our dog got to it before we did.
I took this upstate with us so I could try it out on my father’s lawn. WOW! It really DOES shoot fast and far. In fact we lost one of the arrows. I guess it will show up eventually or my father will run over it with the lawnmower.
I also received…
Captain America Socks – Love these socks. Me and both of my kids fought over who got to keep them. I won! LOL! Sadly they were too small for my chubby legs, so I have to give them up to one of my kids.
Avengers Party Game – I didn’t set this up for my guests, only because with our Halloween decorations up there was no place to hang this. I plan on bringing this to work with me (I work with school aged kids). I know they will have a blast with this. It reminds me of a “pin the tail on a donkey” type game.
Avengers Velvet Coloring Poster with Markers – This is really cool. I remember coloring these when I was younger. The set comes with markers too. My daughter said she wanted to color this but hasn’t had a chance to as of yet.
Look for these fun Avengers toys from Hasbro where ever toys are sold.
Having the toys and other goodies really helped make watching the movie a lot more fun.
Have you seen Marvels Avengers: Age of Ultron yet?
What do you think about the Hasbro toys? Do any of toys stand out to you?
