Need a little help waking up in the morning? (Giveaway ends 5/14/13)

Alarm Clock

I am a very sound sleeper. I do not hear alarm clocks. I’m jump out of bed if I hear one of my children, or if our cat has an asthma attack, but I never seem to hear alarm clocks. My husband is my living alarm clock. He’s the one that wakes me up in the morning. If I was left to wake up on my own I could easily sleep to 10:00 – 11:00 AM every day. I love to sleep.

When I was a teenager, and even into my college years, I had 3-4 alarm clocks at any given time. I would set them all for five minutes apart. Sometimes I would hear at least one of them go off. Other times I had to rely on my mother who would get me up just so the alarm clocks could be turned off. Alarm clocks offered a much nicer wake up than my mom. She would swing open my door (which made a loud noise) and yell at me GET UP! That was enough to make me jump out of bed.

One week days when my kids have off from school they will sleep in. If I need to get up for any reason I will have my husband wake me up before he leaves for work. If I need to get up a bit later than that I’ll have him call me. I will wake up to the sound of the phone, not to the sound of the alarm clock. My husband on the other hand springs out of bed the moment the alarm clock goes off. I don’t know how he does that.

Do you wake up easily to the sound of an alarm clock, or do you need something else, like a phone call, to get you out of bed? How about being woken up with your local weather, a joke or even a quote of the day?

There is a available called WakeUpLand. WakeUpLand is a monthly subscription service that offers members daily wake up calls for a nominal monthly fee.

I have never heard of the service until now. WakeUpLand.com has been sending wake up calls to people all across the United States and Canada since its inception in 2001. It’s easy-to-use online interface coupled with their top-notch customer support makes WakeUPLand the preferred service for individuals in the United States and Canada that have trouble waking up (like me!).

Here is some more information about the service.

Sleep is an important part of one’s life and sometimes people find sleeping more important than an important business meeting or planned event. WakeUpLand offers custom wake up calls to members so that oversleeping is no longer an issue – of course the option to hit “snooze” on the phone being called is available.

Personalization is a big part of WakeUpLand’s automated wake up calls which is why the service has several fun and unique messages that members can wake up to. Once an account is created, a wake up call can immediately be setup using the free one week trial that is offered. [The trial, unless canceled, automatically converts into a monthly plan, which costs $4.99/month, after the week is up]

Members have several options to choose when it comes to the greeting played when the wake up call rings to the designated phone. A personal message can be recorded or one of the following WakeUpLand characters can be selected to play the wake up call: American Voice, French Accent, Australian Accent, Drill Sergeant, British Accent, Indian Accent, Spanish Language Greeting, The Pirate, Animals Of the Barnyard or the standard alarm clock sounds.

In addition to the free professionally recorded greetings offered, WakeUpLand does offer a plethora of “Premium” greetings which are as follows: Joke Of The Day, Quote Of the Day, Fun Fact Of The Day, This Day In History, Stock Quotes, Psalm Of The Day, Stock Quotes, and Weather Reports – it is now possible to wake up to informational messages every day.

I asked about the premium greetings and it’s monthly cost. Regular service is $4.99/mo and the Premium service is $5.98/mo. When you think about it the monthly costs is minimal. Even with the premium service it comes out to about .20 center per day.

A phone call is also a lot less annoying the the sound of a buzzing alarm clock. 🙂

It’s worth trying out for free with their one week free trial. Just make sure to cancel before the week is up of you don’t wish to continue, otherwise you’ll be billed $4.99 for the month.

This would be a great service for students in college and even elderly people.

If you would like more information you can visit www.WakeUpLand.com. You can also call (866) 399-9253 or contact e-mail support at Support “at” WakeUpLand “dot” com.

This is a great idea. I remember “back in the day” when I lived with my grandmother during high school and she worked third shift, she would leave a wake-up call with a taxi company of all things! They would call every night at 11pm sharp. A human being even! Cannot use this giveaway, but thought I would let ya know how things always come around!

  5. I probably escaped being involved in a 70 car pile up on the highway. I woke up an hour late, and if I would have gotten up on time, I probably would have been hurt in this massive collision.

I am terrible at waking up with an alarm. Maybe this would help!

  7. Krystal Dunlap says:

I want to win because I am just like u I littereally set 20 alarms on my phone all with different sounds and I never get up. My husband usually hears my alarm and wakes me up or I would sleep until 11 too. I have four kids and two dogs if I hear the kids I get up right away or if I hear the dogs barking other than that I may sleep all day.
