New Animated Series on Nick Jr. – Juluis Jr. #JuliusJr

Premiering today at 11:00 AM (ET/PT) is a new animated series on Nick Jr. called Julius Jr. It’s geared towards children ages 2-4, but other ages will enjoy it too.

Julius Jr. is an all new animated series based on the Paul Frank family of characters. Some readers might be familiar with Paul Frank’s Julius character. He’s a loveable monkey that appears on apparel, home décor, books, stickers and more. Julius Jr. is a younger version of Julius.

Julius Jr. is a funky monkey with a penchant for invention. Together with his best pals, Worry Bear, Sheree, Clancy and Ping — they build a playhouse out of a simple cardboard box. But when they step inside, to their surprise and delight, they discover a magical playroom where ordinary objects come to life and fantastic adventures are just a door away!

Julius Jr. is written in a way that children will understand when it comes to imaginative play. Julius Jr. and his friends can turn a plain old cardboard box into a magical playhouse where many adventures await them.

I’m pretty sure most parents and grandparents know first had how a child’s imagination works. For example, my kids used to love empty boxes. My husband used to joke that we should skip presents and just give the kids a bunch of empty boxes. It was amazing to see how our children turned those boxes into a club house, fire truck, doll house and more. To most people it’s just a box – to a child it can be anything their hearts desire.

One of the best “toys” I had when I was little was the box that our fridge came in. 🙂

I enjoy the characters. They are adorable and very likeable.

I have seen other children’s shows over the years. Some of them are wonderful – others are just “painful” to watch. If you are a parent I’m sure you can relate. There are some children’s shows that are annoying to watch when you are a grown up (I won’t mention any shows specifically – but I have a list. LOL). This is NOT one of those shows. I actually enjoyed it. I thought it was adorable.

The show is done in soft colors which I enjoyed too. I think it would be very appealing to young children.

I like how the show weaves a bit of learning into each episode. It’s not just entertainment but also a learning experience too. Not so much ABC’s or 123 but more so sharing, cooperative play and imagination.

Aww…that is so cute they did a backtrack on Paul Franks adorable monkey NOW as a cute lil’ one. My daughter just outgrow her Paul Frank deal not that long ago.
We have 2 grandkids here most of the week, and two other little ones here part time that my daughter does day care for. I can see this becoming a favorite….for MOM and GRANDMA. sharing, cooperation? SO needed at the ages of 2-4. All 4 kids are actually 1.6 to almost 2 right now.

You have NO idea after raising kids and now having day care in the house how CrAzY that big purple dinosaur, those big eared mice, and that crazy Red muppet makes me. Time for some variety!

  2. I recorded this for my son and he loved it. He actually watched it 3 times.
