New fun kid app – Happy Mrs. Chicken staring Peppa Pig

Are you familiar with the adorable children’s show Peppa Pig? The originated in the United Kingdom and now airs on Nick Jr. here in the United States. I did a review for some cute Peppa Pig DVD last year. You can read more about it here.

Peppa is a little girl pig who lives with her parents and young brother George. Peppa has a lot of friends who are also animals.

I was asked to review a new children’s app featuring the lovable little Peppa Pig called Happy Mrs. Chicken. The app is currently available for $2.99. The app is compatible with iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad, NokiaE7, N8, C7 and C6-01 Android operating system 2.1 and above.

Happy Mrs. Chicken features six fun and easy games plus a “sticker book” you can decorate with the stickers you win from playing the games.

Happy Mrs Chicken – The object of the game is to make Happy Mrs. Chicken lay as many eggs as possible. As the eggs hatch little chicks scurry off the screen. This game is super easy to do. All you need to do is tap on Happy Mrs. Chicken as fast as you can all over the screen to help her lay her eggs.

Chicken Coop – The object of this game is to wait for the chicks to hatch from their eggs and then guide them into the right chicken coop based on their color. Yellow chicks in the yellow coop and brown chicks in the brown coop. There is a very simple version of this game (only yellow chicks and a yellow coop). More advanced players can play against the clock.

Seed and Maze – Help little chicks find their way to the other side of the maze by dropping seeds for them to follow. There are different types of mazes too. Here is a hint, make sure to keep your finger down the whole time you are swiping it from one end of the maze to the other. If you lift your finger it WON’T drop a seed and the little chick will just stop until you fill in the void with a seed.
variety of 6 mazes.

Muddy Puddles – You can play this game as either Peppa or her brother George. The object of the game is to jump into as many muddy puddles as you possibly can. Little kids will find this game fun.

Sticker Book – As you complete tasks or hit certain milestones in the other games you are awarded with virtual stickers. You can use those stickers to decorate your special sticker book. It’s kind of cute how you can create your own scene. You can even re-size and change the direction of the stickers too.

Puzzles – There are several puzzles for your child to enjoy. Some are really easy and some are a bit more complex. All your child has to do is swipe the piece from the top to where it belongs in the puzzle.

Throughout the game other Peppa Pig characters will make appearances including George, Daddy Pig, Mummy Pig, Rebecca Rabbit and Suzy Sheep.

Happy Mrs. Chicken helps to support a child’s development with hand-eye coordination skills, creative thinking, matching games, puzzles and more.

The game stars adorable, colorful characters and music. There is plenty of touch screen interaction which children enjoy. There are even audio instructions to help even non-readers to understand how to play the games.

Overall I think it’s an fun app for young children. It’s easy to use, the characters and music are enjoyable and the games are fun for the little ones. For only $2.99 this should keep a child entertained for a long time.

Look for Happy Mrs. Chicken in the iTunes app store.
