Wow! Is it August 6th already? This month is going by fast!
I just got off the scale a few minutes ago. Since I’m rounding up/down to the nearest pound, rather then use the decimals like I did the last time, I’ve lost 2 pounds. That is pretty good all things considering. That means I’ve lost 3 pounds in the two weeks since I started. Last week was low due to “female stuff” I’m sure. I’m hopeful that the next couple of weeks will be good weeks.
Last Friday I went to our favorite Chinese restaurant for dinner with my family. I was good and ordered healthier options and filled up on unsweetened tea rather then order a soda or a fruity drink.
I had a few times this week were I was about to give in to tempation. I have been off the program for a couple of months now so it was a bit of a challenge this week NOT to eat the same things my family ate. At one point I was actually a bit frustrated. I couldn’t help but think that I spend 30+ minutes cooking a nice meal for my family that I can’t indulge in myself. Like the BBQ Chicken Pizza I made for them. I did have a couple of bites just to see how it tasted but I didn’t actually eat the pizza myself. And it was SO GOOD!
I did make the Nutrisystem pizza but I couldn’t help but crave the BBQ Chicken pizza I so lovingly made my family.
I think that was my biggest challenge of the week. I’m sure over the next few weeks I’ll get back into the swing of things and it will be easier and easier like it was the last time.
When I made my family the BBQ Chicken Pizza I made an Italian herb flat bread pizza from Nutrisystem so at least I had the “pizza experience”.
Notice the small blue squre packet on top of the flat bread in the one picture? That is suppose to help keep things fresh. If you are on Nutrisystem please watch out for them. Sometimes they stick to the underside of something (like a muffin) and you might accidentally take a chomp out of one. I’m sure they would not taste very pleasant.
One new product this time around that I couldn’t wait to try was the cinnamon bun. Well it didn’t quite look like the photo on the website.
It’s tiny! Very tiny. And the sugar glaze on top was all messed up. Don’t get me wrong, it tasted great. Especially when it’s been warmed in the microwave for a few seconds. It tasted a lot better then it looked.
I would never quibble about having a cinnamon bun for breakfast, that is for sure.
My family sometimes looks at the foods I am eating and goes “Eww…gross. How can you eat that stuff?”. And sometimes my kids keep asking me if they can dip into my Nutrisystem food supply. My husband has no interest in the foods at all but the kids do, depending on what it of course.
The Beef Stroganoff with Noodles was not exactly a family favorite. As it is with most of the foods it tastes a lot better then it looks.
I wish this had a bit more to it. It was a lot of juice and not enough noodles or carrots (I couldn’t care less about the meat).
Today and tomorrow are going to be a bit tricky. IF my husband gets the job offer we have been waiting for we’ll probably go out to celebrate (dinner and/or take the kids for ice cream). Tomorrow we’re going to my Father’s house for a BBQ. I plan on bringing my Nutrisystem hamburger and filling up on the garden salad and fresh fruits. I just hope there are no other temptations.
Speaking of food it’s time for me to go and have breakfast. I plan on making the apple cinnamon oatmeal. I love oatmeal and the Nutrisystem oatmeal is really good.
