on’t know where you live, but here in the northeast it’s been very hot and humid. I am NOT a fan of heat or humidity. Blah!
One of the problems with it being hot and humid is the chance of becoming dehydrated. As you know, being dehydrated is not healthy. Your body is made up of mostly water, so when you get dehydrated it has a negative effect on your body. Some of the side effects are dehydration are headaches, lethargy, and constipation.
The heat is not the only way you can become dehydrated. Being sick can also cause dehydration, especially if you are vomiting and/or you have diarrhea.
There are several products on the market that can help you restore your hydration and the electrolytes you lose when you are sick.
Some people drink sports drinks to improve their hydration and electrolytes. There is another brand that has 4-5x’s the hydration of sports drinks. It’s called Kinderlyte.
Kinderlyte does have a child-sounding name (“Kinder”), but adults can use the product too.
Kinderlyte is just as effective as Pedialyte, yet does not contain artificial ingredients and colors like sucralose and acesulfame potassium.
Drinks and powders with high levels of electrolytes like Kinderlyte meet the World Health Organization’s requirements and can help relieve symptoms associated with virus-related mild to moderate dehydration in both adults and kids. Kinderlyte’s oral electrolyte solutions are designed specifically for rehydration with the optimal balance of glucose and electrolytes.
Kinderlyte is available as a liquid (in a bottle), or as a powder that you mix in with a glass or bottle of water. It’s available in friendly flavors such as Grape, Fruit Punch, Orange, Raspberry Lemonade, Coconut Lime and Wild Berry. Orange is my favorite flavor. My daughter and son both liked the Wild Berry. Raspberry Lemonade wasn’t too bad either.
Kinderlyte works fast to address all possible causes of hydration, from illness and sports or even a late night out. These products are naturally gluten-free, vegan, non-GMO Project Verified and never contain artificial colors, flavors or ingredients.
I was sent some Kinderlyte products to try out for myself, and with my family. I received a variety of liquid Kinderlyte as well as powedered Kinderltye.
It’s great to have products like this on hand in case you are under the weather, especially these days when getting to the store is easier said than done.
As for the products, I’ve tried a few with my family, just to get their opinions. Some flavors were not that bad, whereas others didn’t taste that good. Like anything else, it’s an acquired taste. The same goes for sports drinks and Pedialyte – some taste good, some do not.
I think most of the flavors would appeal to children. They tend to like anything that reminds them of juice. My kids are 21 and 23 years old, so their tastes are a lot different than they were when they were kids.
As I mentioned, products like Kinderlyte are great to keep on hand, “just in case.” You never know when you’ll need some help restoring your hydration and/or electrolytes. This is also a much better option than sports drinks, which usually contain A LOT of sugar and unnatural ingredients.
