Santa Paws 2 Review & Fun FREE Printables and more!

I love all the Disney films that feature “talking” dogs and puppies. From Air Bud to Spooky Buddies, I love them all! Unlike other talking animals movies, the Disney films always seem very realistic – as if the dog or puppy was really talking.

We have several of the buddies/puppies/paws movies in my family’s movie collection. I’m thrilled that we were able to include the newest edition, Santa Paws 2 to our movie collection.

I reviewed the first movie, Santa Paws: The Search for Santa, a couple of years ago. Here is that link in case you are interested in that review, http://bit.ly/Tox2qG (I shortened the link).

The new movie, Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups, is now available on Blu-ray, DVD and digital download.

Here is the film’s trailer.

Here is the movie’s synopsis;

The North Pole has a new litter of playful pups! However, when the frisky foursome—Hope, Jingle, Charity and Noble—practically destroy Santa’s Workshop with their mischievous gamboling, they realize the best way to prove that they’re responsible enough to become Santa’s Helpers is to show how well they can spread the Christmas spirit all by themselves. With help from a magic crystal, they start granting everyone’s wishes. But their good intentions backfire when one unhappy boy asks that Christmas go away forever! With his wish impetuously fulfilled, and the joyous spirit quickly disappearing from the planet, Mrs. Claus and the pups have to find a way to reverse the spell—or risk losing Christmas forever!

I love the pups! They are so cute! Every time I see one of these movies I want to run right out and adopt a bunch of puppies. 🙂

Each of the pups have his/her own unique personality.

  • HOPE is the daring tomboy who wears a backwards red cap and rarely looks before she leaps.
  • JINGLE is the diva with a bell on her collar who loves to sing, but can’t carry a tune.
  • CHARITY is the girliest and most self-centered of the pups, with a mistletoe barrette, who has yet to learn the meaning of her name.
  • NOBLE is the mischievous only brother and self-appointed leader who is distinguished by a cheeky black spot around his eye.

I like that each pup has a distinct feature about it so you know which one is which when watching the movie. It’s easy to pick out which one is Nobel with the spot on his eye. Charity is also easy to pick out thanks to her cute little barrette.

What I love about this movie (aside from it being super cute and funny) is that it’s the kind of story that warms your heart. I will admit that I got “misty eyed” a few times watching the film too. You really get invested into the characters. And you cannot help but fall in love with the puppies.

This is not a “girly” movie. Even though the pups are mostly girls, this is a movie for the whole family. My son’s favorite character was Noble. He also loved the character Eddie the Elf Dog.

My husband, who is very picky about holiday movies, also enjoyed the film. At first he wasn’t going to watch it. He sat on his chair with his laptop figuring he could do something while the rest of us watched the film. The entire time he never touched his laptop. He watched the whole film from the beginning to the end (I watched him). 🙂 He even commented that it was a “cute movie”. He also commented about how surprised he was to see Cheryl Ladd in the film. George Newbern (Father of the Bride I & II) is also in the film.

Santa Paws 2 is a super adorable, heartwarming movie that will really put you in the Christmas spirit. It has all the elements of a great holiday movie – it’s cute, funny, entertaining and has a wonderful message about the true meaning of the holiday.
