Spring Cleaning For Your Body

Drink water

With the new season upon us, it’s time to start thinking about cleansing out the old, to make room for the new. Healing Waters is a leading spa and wellness center dedicated to improved & healthy living.  Founder Amanda Gorecki shares her tips on how to cleanse your body for spring.

  1.  Detox; both physically and mentally

Spring is a great time to start fresh.  By allowing not only your body, but also your mind, to detox completely, you create a platform for a new beginning.  Put those New Years’ resolutions to work, and try to incorporate more healthy options like vegetables, fruit, and tea into your daily diet.  It’s also important to set aside some much needed “me” time.  Do what feels best for you; take up a new workout class, give Yoga a try, or even set aside just 5 minutes every morning to meditate and reflect.  The results will speak for themselves.

  1.  Rid your skin of toxins

Now that the harsh winter months are over, we can work on cleansing our skin and ridding it of toxins.  A favorite trick over at Healing Waters is to add a toner into your daily skincare mix.  If you’re not already do this, you need to!! A toner aids cleanser in wiping the skin clean, and preps for moisturizer to do its’ job.  Adding a toner in between cleansing and moisturizing is a great way to make sure all excess dirt, oil, makeup, and toxins from throughout the day are gone, leaving you feeling fresh-faced and new; just like Spring!

  1.  Drink more water

I can not stress enough how important it is to stay hydrated.  Ever feel sluggish for the first few hours of your day, even after a great night’s rest?  Get tired in the middle of your workout, even though you fueled your body with proper food and nutrition all day?  It may be because you simple need more water.  Water aids our bodies in restarting themselves each day.  Drinking a glass of water in the morning will help kick-start your organs, and drinking an extra one before bed each night will ensure that you don’t get dehydrated while you’re sleeping.  You also minimize other beverages like soda or soft drinks, and swap out for water with each meal.  You’ll be feeling like new in no time!
