I grew up in upstate New York in a house. Oh how I miss my family home. I had a lot of wonderful memories there.
Our home had a well. I love having well water because it was always freezing cold. You never needed ice cubes for your drinks. If you wanted a cold glass of water to quench your thirst all you needed to do was turn on the faucet.
When I got married we moved into a condo in the suburbs of New York City to be closer to my husband’s job. I went from well water to town/city water. Not that I am knocking public water, but it doesn’t taste the same as the well water I grew up with. Not only that I worry about what can be lurking inside that water.
Occasionally when they do work in the area the water turns brown for a short time. I rather NOT drink water that is tinted brown (even if the water company says it’s OK) nor will I give it to my pets or cook with it.
Instead of drinking water straight from the tap I put water through a filtration system. I let the water run into a special pitcher where a filter removes the bad stuff and leaves behind cleaner water. I keep the pitcher in the fridge so that the water is always cold. I just wish my kids remembered to fill it up. Every time I go to pour a glass of water there is hardly anything in there because the kids neglected to refill the pitcher. Teenagers… sigh…
I was sent to review a while back a new water filtration system that is new to North America. It comes from Italy. It’s called the Laica Mineralbalance™ water filtration system. It uses some thing called a bi-flux™ filter to filter the water to remove, in layman’s term’s, the “bad things” and leave behind the “good things”.
Some commonly used water filtration systems strip your water of not only the “bad things” but also essential minerals like Calcium and Magnesium. I didn’t even know these things were found in common tap water.
The bi-flux™ filter helps keep the “good things” in your water.
Here is a little more information about the bi-flux™ filter system.
The bi-flux™ filter preserves the beneficial and essential minerals, Calcium and Magnesium, naturally present in tap water as recommended by the World Health Organization (WHO).
Bi-flux™ technology maintains the right pH level in the water (6.5 to 9.5).
Laica’s bi-flux™ Filter does not release harmful ammonium, BPA, Epichlorohydrin, and Polyvinyl Chloride.
Each bi-flux™ filter maintains the mineral balance in your water for up to 40 gallons, which is equivalent to 300+ 16 oz. water bottles.
The mineral balancing properties of the Biflux Pitcher Cartridge have also been independently tested by WQA. The Water Quality Association (WQA) is a not-for-profit international trade association representing the residential, commercial and industrial water treatment industry.
The Laica Mineralbalance™ water filtration system uses the bi-flux™ filter. The pitcher is sleek and attractive looking. The pitcher is made in Italy and is available in six fashionable colors to suit your tastes or your kitchen’s color scheme. It’s even available in less common colors like fuchsia and orange. It can even fit inside some refrigerator doors (depending on your fridge).
The .60 gallon pitcher also comes with a removable filter change indicator so that you know when it is time to replace the filter. No more guessing or checking the calendar. The filter will let you know when it needs to be replaced. That is great for absent minded people like me. 🙂
I have the Laica 3000 series pitcher.
You can enjoy the water straight from the pitcher or use it to cook with if you so desire. I have to admit that I pour water from the filtered pitcher into my pet’s water dish. After all, I want to make sure that they are drinking clean, fresh water.
So far I am enjoying the Laica Mineralbalance™ water filtration system. I am not a scientist so I can’t tell you what the water content is made up of. I can tell you that me and my family have been enjoying fresh, clean water. I also like the convenience of the refillable pitcher because it keeps water bottles out of the landfills.
If you would like to learn more about the Laica Mineralbalance™ water filtration system visit www.Laica.com. Because the product is available world wide you’ll need to select your country (found at the bottom of the home page).
You can buy the Laica Mineralbalance™ water filtration system on Amazon.com for under $30 and refill cartridges (package of 3) is around $35.

I would love to win this for my 21 yr old daughter. She lives in an area with nasty tap water and cannot afford to keep buying bottled water (college student). This would solve her problems-thanks!

In general I don’t like buying bottled water. I’ve tried a few filtered products and am pretty pleased, but I haven’t tried this brand and I’m still looking for my “preferred” filter brand.

I’d like to try the Laica Mineralbalance™ water filtration system because I’m not so sure the current filtration system is doing the job properly, I usually see a white sedimentation in my cup with the current system.

I’d like to win this for my sister and her family beciase the water in their Rhode Island home comes out cloudy…like you can’t see your hand through it until it settles in the glass. And I think its unhealthy to drink and they don’t have any filter system

I want to win this because I have been wanting a filtered water pitcher. We buy way too much bottled water and I think it would be cheaper and of course greener to have a pitcher instead. And I love the look of these pitchers. LOVE the pink one!!
