Toilet Tree Fogless Mirror

I adore my husband and there are very few “quirks” about him that gets on my nerves. One thing he does that bugs me is that when he shaves he sometimes leaves a few hairs in the sink. Ugh! Gross! He’s usually very good at cleaning everything up but if she shaves late at night he’s usually very tired or if he does it early in the AM he’s usually in a rush (or half asleep). So from time to time he does leave some hairs in the sink.

I have often suggested that he shave in the shower, that way the water can flush the hair down the drain and there would be less of a clean up. Of course that is easier said then done. As most people know when you take showers (or baths) the mirrors in the bathroom often fog up making it impossible to see what you are doing.

I was thrilled to learn that there is a special mirror created especially for shaving in the mirror that does not fog up. Its a fogless mirror that is sold by Toilet Tree.

The Toilet Tree Fogless Mirror attaches easily to your shower wall. All you need to do is make sure the wall is clean from any soap scum or build up. Then you use these special double sided tape pieces and some clear silicon gel and adhere it to the wall. I read that it can be removed easily. Personally I have not had a need to remove the mirror so I am not sure how well is comes off.

Once the mirror is placed on your shower wall you are ready to go.

The Toilet Tree Products Fogless mirror is easy to use. As soon as you get in the shower you remove the mirror from its base and fill the tank in back with warm/hot water from your shower, then place the mirror back on the base. The heat from the water behind the mirror keeps it from fogging up while you shower, leaving you with a clear mirror to shave with.

Check out this video about the Fogless Mirror. (I’m sorry that its not centered).

I’m happy to report that the Fogless Mirror works beautifully. If you take a typical 5-10 minute shower it works great. If you happen to be in the shower a bit longer then that you’ll have to empty out the water from the “tank” and refill it with warm water again. That is because once in the tank the water starts to cool to room temperature. When the temperature gets down too low the mirror will start to fog up. The trick is to keep the inside water close to the same temperature as the outside water.

The mirror is a nice generous size. I like that there is a little shelf on the base where my husband can keep his razor. Another great feature is that is has a built in squeegee to help you wipe the mirror clean when you are done with your shower. Sadly we no longer have ours. Our son was playing with it (why I don’t know) and our dog got a hold of it and used it as a chew toy. Even so the mirror is easy enough to wipe off with the towel.

I like that the mirror can adjust (pivot) so that each family member can use it. My husband is tealler then me but I am able to make it tilt down so I can use it if need be.

You have to make sure to remove the water from the tank when you are done with your shower. The last thing you want is for the water to stay inside because it will get gross and slimy, not to mention unsanitary.

My husband has been using the mirror to shave in the shower and I am THRILLED that I no longer have to clean hair off the sink when I get up in the morning. The Fogless Mirror makes things easier on ME because there is less cleaning I need to do. Its also been great for my husband. When he’s in the shower his skin is softer so it makes it easier for him to shave. Having the Fogless Mirror has been great for him too.

The ONLY problem I have had with it is getting the mirror back on the stand. I have yet to master that. It DOES slide on easily but you have to make sure that the pieces are aligned perfectly, which I sometimes have a hard time doing. I’m “all thumbs” sometimes. My husband on the other hand doesn’t seem to have that problem.

We’re giving the Toilet Tree Fogless Mirror two thumbs up, five stars and a 10+. This innovative mirror has been a long time coming. I’m glad that someone finally came up with it. I think this could also make a great gift too.

Envyderm Eyelash Growth Serum (Giveaway)

My husband is blessed with the longest, thickest, most beautiful eyelashes. Its totally unfair that a MAN have such amazing eyelashes. If only I could be so lucky.

I wish I could get a good shot of his eyelashes for you. Its easier said then done. Its hard to get a close up shot without everything getting fuzzy. So you’ll just have to take my word for it that my dear hubby has AMAZING eyelashes.

Thankfully my daughter inherited some of my husband’s rich, thick eyelashes. My son did a little too. I tell my daughter all the time that she’ll probably never need to wear mascara because her eyelashes are beautiful enough “as is”.

I wish I was so lucky. My lashes are barely there. Being fair skinned with fair hair doesn’t help much either. I’m one of those people who MUST wear mascara or I look all washed out.

I was offered the opportunity to try out a product called Envyderm. Envyderm is a eyelash growth serum promotes natural eyelash growth to give you longer, fuller and darker lashes. Envyderm contains only safe ingredients tested by ophthalmologists with no animal testing.

I have seen a prescription serum advertised on TV that helps promote eyelash growth, however the price tag is $$$$ and I worry about one of the possible side effect of having part of your eye change color. No kidding! If you know what commercial I am talking about, listen carefully next time and you’ll see what I mean.

I’m always willing to give something a try, even more so if I know there is not a huge price tag or side effects involved. Envyderm is a bit out of my budget at $99, but its a lot less expensive then the prescription kind. Plus I like that its made with safe ingredients and was not tested by animals.

I tried very hard to take a “before” shot of my right eye. I know its fuzzy. Make sure to make note of the birthmark (freckle?) to the one side of my eye.

I used Envyderm every night before going to bed. Its really easy to apply. You just brush it across the top of your lashes (where they grow out of your eye lid). That is all you need to do. Easy peasy!

I never experienced any burning or itching sensation. All I felt was a little wetness until it dried, similar to using a liquid eye liner.

The next morning after I washed my face I would apply mascara and eye liner as usual.

Envyderm says you can see results in about two weeks. For me it took a bit longer. I would have to say 3+ weeks. The first thing I did notice was that my upper lashes seemed a bit darker prior to using any make up. Mostly the outer lashes (the ones closer to my ears). According to Envyderm is could take up to 6-8 weeks to see the full results. That is not so bad. You also use so little of the product that I’m sure the one bottle would last you that long.

Envyderm is made with a powerful SymPeptide to lengthen and strengthen your natural lashes. It also helps to reinforce your eyelash hair with nourishing proteins, vitamins and moisturizers.

I took another picture of my eye, about 3 1/2 weeks after I started to use the product. I don’t know how well you can tell but the upper lashes are a bit darker.

Or at least I hope you can notice the difference. Like I said, its hard to take a close up of your eyelashes, at least with my camera.

You can see its the same eye because of the birthmark (freckle) to the one side.

So far I am pleased with the results and I am hopeful that in another few weeks I’ll see thicker, darker and much nicer eyelashes pre-mascara then I did before using Envyderm. I’m also looking forward to not having to wear mascara from time to time. If my lashes look better and less washed out then I’ll have no need for mascara at all. That is fine with me. I’m not a huge fan of wearing too much make up. Less is more if you ask me.

Envyderm would also love to award a lucky reader with their own bottle of Envyderm so that they can experience more beautiful lashes too. This is a $99 value. Thank you Envyderm!

Woody’s Love Grenade

Our teen daugther is obsessed with stores like Abercrombie, Hollister and Aeropastle, like most teenage girls. Have you ever been inside of one of these stores? Aside from the music so loud you can barely think most of these stores smell like perfume or cologne. Some stores smell great, others are very overwhelming.

We were told by one store employee a while back that they spray the clothes with their signature scent. That is why the clothes smell like the store long after you bring them home. I can understand spraying scent into the air but the thought of spraying scents on clothing seems a bit unnecessary. Or is it?

Recently I was sent a samples of  Woody’s Love Grenade. What in the world is a “love grenade”. It sounds kinky. Ha Ha.

Woody’s Love Grenade is a scented spray, similar to a cologne, that you can not only use all over your body but you can also spray it on your clothing and your laundry.

I have a pre-teen son and a husband. Their laundry doesn’t always smell the greatest. I like the idea of spraying something on them to make them smell fresh.

Woody’s Love Grenade looks just like a grenade, as pictured above. It is certainly a man’s scent. It has a spicy, musky, woodsy sort of scent (how is that for a description – ha ha). Its a light scent. Its not overpowering in any way. It does seem to stay on the body for a while and the clothes for a bit longer.

My husband and my son have been sharing the grenade (dare I say fighting over it at times). My husband uses a few sprays on his body before getting dressed in the morning. I like the scent. Its light and subtle. I’m not keen on strong smelling scents on men.

My tween son LOVES using the Woody’s Love Grenade. He actually sprays it on his laundry before putting it away in his drawers. He says that he likes the way his drawers smell when he opens them up to take out his clothes for the day. Since he’s not yet 11 (he will be next month) I rather my son not wear cologne in the traditional sense. I have no problem with him spraying the Woody’s Love Grenade on his clothing. It leaves his clothes with a subtle scent which is fine for a ’tween.

Sometimes I spray a little bit in the clothes hamper too. I know its only going to get washed off but I like how it freshens up the otherwise not-so-pleasant scent of smelly, sweating clothing.

I’m giving Wood’s Love Grenade a two thumbs up. It makes a great, lightweight body spray and really makes clothing smell really nice. The only downside is that its not easy to come by.

Woody’s Love Grenande is sold at beauty shops and other retailers across the country.
