PEANUTS Greatest Hits special edition, collectible picture disc! (Giveaway ends 4/16/16)

Record player

My family and I are huge fans of the PEANUTS gang – Charlie Brown, Snoopy, Linus, Woodstock, Lucy, Peppermint Patty, Marcie, Sally, Pig Pen… we love them all.

Have you seen the PEANUTS movie that was in theaters not too long ago (and is currently available on Blu-ray, DVD and Digital HD)? If you haven’t seen it yet, you should. It’s adorable! You can read my review here – The PEANUTS movie is coming to Blu-ray and DVD. Please note the giveaway in that post is over.

We never miss any of the holiday PEANUTS specials either. If we don’t catch them on TV we make it a point to watch the copies that we have. Just recently we enjoyed It’s the Easter Beagle Charlie Brown on a DVD that we own.

We enjoy their specials so much that we own their greatest hits on CD. We especially love “Christmas Time is Here,” “Linus and Lucy,” and “Little Birdie.”

Now PEANUTS Greatest Hits is available on a special edition, collectible picture disc. It’s an actual LP (long playing) record – the kind we used to enjoy back in the 70’s.

VG_ProductShot4

I can’t believe that LP records are coming back. I spend many hours with my record player enjoying LP’s and 45’s when I was a young girl. My brother even still owns the record player my parents had which is a huge piece of furniture. The record player is on one side and the albums are stored on the other side.

My teenage daughter said she wants to get a record player some day and start collecting albums. It’s funny that something so old is new again.

I never thought we’d never see LP’s again now that you can download your music digitally. And to think I threw most of mine out, except some Disney 45’s that are buried somewhere in the basement.

The special edition PEANUTS LP features Charlie Brown’s face on Side A, and Lucy’s face on Side B.

Check it out in action in this brief video (I want that record player! LOL!).

This new compilation (also available digitally and on CD) features 12 of the most memorable recordings from the beloved animated PEANUTS television specials, all with the sophisticated, yet accessible jazz stylings of the Vince Guaraldi Trio.

PEANUTS Greatest Hits includes such favorites as the instantly recognizable “Linus and Lucy,” the “Charlie Brown Theme” from A Boy Named Charlie Brown, the festive “Christmas Is Coming” from A Charlie Brown Christmas, as well as the humorous “Little Birdie,”  which features vocals by Vince Guaraldi himself!

I was sent one to review. I don’t have a record player (yet?) to actually play it, but I am going to display it as a collectible. It’s just to cute to hide away.

If you are interested in ordering your own copy you can purchase it here – http://smarturl.it/PGHFaceLP. The link takes you to Amazon (it’s not an affiliate link). The LP sells for $23.99. The audio CD and digital download are also available. If you are a Prime member the LP ships for free.

I also have a copy of the PEANUTS Greatest Hits special edition, collectible picture disc LP to giveaway to a lucky reader.

This giveaway is open to U.S. residents only and will end on April 16, 2016. The winner will be chosen at random using a random number generator from all eligible entries. The winner will be notified via email and will need to reply within three days or a new winner will be chosen in their place.

This is ONE album - the images appear on either side.

Send Cheer and Bring Joy this holiday season with Peanuts and Teleflora

Send Cheer

Have you had the opportunity to see the new Peanuts movie in theaters yet? If you haven’t seen it I would recommend it. It’s adorable! My husband and I went to see it on opening day – and we rarely go to a movie on opening day. We loved the film and cannot wait to add it to our home movie collection.

I find it fitting that the new film was released in time for the holiday season. The Peanuts gang has always been a part of my holidays, as well as for many other people. My family and I can’t let Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas or Easter pass by without watching the Peanuts holiday specials at least once (often more than once).

This year, the Peanuts gang has teamed up with Teleflora to celebrate Peanut’s 50th Anniversary. To help celebrate, Teleflora has created two exclusive floral bouquets in their festive floral line up, that will not only serve as holiday decor but also serves other functions. Think of them as a “gift within a gift.”

Peanuts Christmas Mug by Teleflora

(Available on Teleflora.com for $49.95)

Check out this cute video too!

Both options come with breath-taking, beautiful holiday florals. After the holiday season is over you can remove the flowers and you are left with your second gift – either a Snoopy cookie jar or a fun Peanuts mug.

Teleflora Peanuts

Teleflora was kind enough to send me one of the Peanuts bouquets. It was a hard choice (they are both adorable), but I chose the cookie jar.

I am very pleased with my arrangement. It’s even lovelier in person. I love all the little extras they included including holly berries and “Christmas tree” (for lack of a better description) pieces.

I cannot wait to see the cookie jar – although I don’t want that to happen too quickly. I want the lovely floral arrangement to last as long as possible. It makes a stunning centerpiece on our dining room table.

I love the “dual gift” bouquets (flowers and a collectible piece). Other Teleflora arrangements that come with collectible containers include;T15X100C

Send a Hug® Open Sleigh Ride by Teleflora

(Available on Teleflora.com for $49.95)

Teleflora has dozens of other beautiful gift options available. There is something to suit everyone’s tastes as well as budget.

Floral arrangements make great gifts, especially for those who can’t get out too much (like those in a nursing home or hospital). They also make great hostess gifts, gifts for those who are hard to buy for an gifts for family and friends out of state. You can also “gift” yourself an arrangement to beautify your home for the holidays.

If you would like to learn more please visit Teleflora.com. Be sure to check out their “Deal of the Day,” as well as arrangements available for same day delivery.

Be sure to check out Teleflora on social media too. All of their links are found at the bottom of their website.

What do you think about the Peanuts arrangements? Do you like the whole idea of a gift within a gift? Feel free to share your thoughts.

Peanuts: Emmy Honored Collection

Peanuts Emmy Collection

I grew up with Charlie Brown, Snoopy and the rest of the Peanuts gang. My sister and I had Peanuts books and we used to read the comic in the newspaper. I actually still own a couple of the books, which date back to the early 70’s (they are currently in storage in my father’s basement).

My husband is a fan of Peanuts too. Both of us grew up watching the holiday specials for Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter. In fact, no holiday season is complete without watching each episode at least once.

Occasionally when a special airs on TV it is proceeded by another Peanuts cartoon. I have to admit that we typically don’t watch whatever follows the holiday special. For us, Peanuts means holidays. Little did we know that there are a plethora of Peanuts animated films (made for TV) – many of which have been nominated for a Primetime Emmy ® Awards, and in some case winning the award.

Who know? Did you know that Peanuts films have been nominated for and even won an Emmy Award?

Thanks to a special Peanuts collection, which just released this week, you can see all of the Emmy nominated films.

I received the collection to review.

The specials that come with this collection include;

You’re the Greatest, Charlie Brown – Hard work and team spirit is what Charlie Brown needs to win the decathlon at the school Junior Olympics event.  His competitors are Marcie, defending Decathlon champ Freddie Fabulous and the Masked Marvel (aka, Snoopy).  On the first day, Charlie Brown places third. On day two however, he begins to feel the pressure. He’s faced with having to tackle the high hurdles, pole vault, discus/javelin throw, and other events. Will he emerge victorious and win the Olympics for his school? This special was nominated for a Primetime Emmy® Award (Outstanding Animated Program).

She’s a Good Skate, Charlie Brown – Peppermint Patty trains for a figure-skating competition with Snoopy as her coach. Her determination is fierce, even after facing several obstacles, including exhaustion from pre-dawn training sessions to Marci’s failure to create a proper skating outfit, to her soundtrack malfunctioning at the start of her performance.  Will it be disaster on ice or will Peppermint Patty emerge as a champ?  This special was nominated for a Primetime Emmy ® Award (Outstanding Animated program).

It’s Magic, Charlie Brown – This special finds Snoopy putting on a show after he checks out a book on magic tricks from the library. With Marcie and Sally as his assistants, he performs many tricks (some that work and some that don’t) before an audience. The grand finale features the biggest trick of all, making Charlie Brown disappear.  To everyone’s amazement, Snoopy makes him invisible but doesn’t know how to bring Charlie Brown back. Will Snoopy find a way to reverse the trick? This special was nominated for a Primetime Emmy ® Award (Outstanding Animated Program).

Someday You’ll Find Her, Charlie Brown – Charlie Brown is in love – again! He enlists Linus’ help to find a pretty girl he spotted in the crowd at a football game. He is crushed when the game ends because he thinks he’ll never see her again.  This special was nominated for two Primetime Emmy ® Awards (Outstanding Animated Program/Outstanding Individual Achievement – Animated Programming).

Is this Goodbye, Charlie Brown? – Linus’ father lands a new job which, means the family must relocate.  As Linus and Lucy prepare to depart, the Peanuts gang all bid them farewell. Everyone has to cope with the Van Pelts’ departure – some to a greater degree than others.  Their absence is felt by all. Charlie Brown is miserable without his pal Linus and Sally too misses her “sweet babboo.” Schroeder regrets not saying a proper “good-bye” to Lucy. Peppermint Patty attempts to cheer up Charlie Brown. How will the gang cope with their pals having left the neighborhood? This special was nominated for a Primetime Emmy ® Award (Outstanding Animated Program).

Life is a Circus, Charlie Brown – This special finds Snoopy joining the circus when he falls for one of its performers, a white poodle named Fifi.  Snoopy soon becomes a star performer, doing tricks on the unicycle, high wire and trapeze, and he’s renamed “Hugo the Great.” In the meantime, Charlie Brown is left distraught by Snoopy’s decision. What he doesn’t know however, is that for Snoopy, show business isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. Will Snoopy ever return home or will the lure of stardom and his love for Fifi keep him from Charlie Brown? This special earned a Primetime Emmy ® Award (Outstanding Animated Program).

What Have We Learned, Charlie Brown? – This touching special finds the Peanuts gang in Europe as they visit various war memorials. They learn about the First and Second World Wars, and the sacrifices made by soldiers at various historical battles. In France they learn about the D-Day Invasion of World War II. Charlie Brown and his pals also visit Ypres and find out about the various battles fought during World War I. Linus recites the famous war poem “In Flanders Fields.”  This special was nominated for a Primetime Emmy® Award (Outstanding Animated Program).

It’s Flashbeagle, Charlie Brown – Originally broadcast in 1984, this special is comprised of several clever parodies inspired by popular early ‘80s dance trends ranging from disco to break dancing as well as a series of top 40 hit songs from the era.  It’s Flashbeagle, Charlie Brown earned an Emmy ® Award nomination for Outstanding Animated Program.

Snoopy’s Getting Married, Charlie Brown – Is Snoopy really planning on tying the knot? In this special, everyone in the Peanuts gang pitches in, in an effort to make preparations for Snoopy’s big wedding day. When Snoopy meets the girl of his dreams, Genevieve, a beautiful Poodle, they begin courting and soon after, he proposes. The excitement builds as the big day draws near but Snoopy gets increasingly nervous about leaving his bachelorhood behind.  Will wedding bells ring for Snoopy? This special was nominated for a Primetime Emmy ® Award (Outstanding Animated Program).

Why, Charlie Brown, Why? – This moving special finds Linus learning how to cope with a very ill classmate, Janice, whom he has grown close to and feels a great deal of affection for. He visits her at the hospital and at school, he defends her from a bully who makes fun of the way she looks. As Janice undergoes treatments to recover her health, Linus questions why she became ill to begin with. This special was nominated for a Primetime Emmy® Award (Outstanding Animated Program).

You’re a Good Sport, Charlie Brown – Start your engines! Its Motocross season and competing against the likes of Peppermint Patty and the Masked Marvel – aka a certain daredevil Beagle named Snoopy – can intimidate anyone. But if Charlie Brown – tagged with unlucky number 13 – can keep the pace slow and steady (as well as hold onto his helmet), he might just win the race! It’s fast and furious fun right up through the finish line with this wonderful Emmy® Award winner (Outstanding Children’s Special).

I have never, ever heard of these specials before, nor have I seen them. Even my husband was as surprised as I was over how many specials there were that we never heard of before.

I am grateful for the opportunity to reviews this DVD collection. It was just as much fun for me as it was my husband to watch these specials. We were in awe of how enjoyable they were to watch. Now we regret all those times we opted not to watch the special that airs after the Peanuts holiday episode.

The only one that seemed slightly familiar was It’s Magic, Charlie Brown. We both think we have seen that one before, at least once.

Most look to be old – like from the 80’s. Perhaps that is why we don’t remember seeing them?

If you are a Peanuts fan this is a fun collection to check out. Don’t be surprised if you find some new favorites in this collection.

I like that this collection came out just before the full length Peanuts feature film comes to theaters this winter. This DVD collection would be a fun way to introduce Charlie Brown, Snoopy and the rest of the Peanuts gang to a whole new generation.

Look for Peanuts: Emmy Honored Collection where ever DVDs are sold.

This Easter stuff your baskets with new products from NESTLE® and PEANUTS®

snoopy

I have delightful news for candy lovers and fans of Charles Schulz PEANUTS® gang. NESTLE® and PEANUTS® have come together this holiday to offer consumers their favorite NESTLE® products in adorable PEANUTS® characters shapes and packaging.

In addition to this great news, NESTLE® also announced the purchase of certified, sustainable cocoa equal to the amount needed to produce the entire Easter chocolate collection for 2015. This is important because nearly 80% of consumers recently surveyed said they would prefer to purchase chocolate products made with sustainable cocoa if they were easy to find and didn’t cost more. Nestlé is thrilled to make those purchases possible this Easter.

Did you know that Easter is the second highest selling candy holiday, just behind Halloween? That makes sense.

My family and I are HUGE fans of the PEANUTS® gang. Charlie Brown, Snoopy, Woodstock, Linus, Lucy, Sally, Pig Pen, Marci, Peppermint Patty… we love them all.

“Candy is the number one gift shopped for during the Easter season and it plays a starring role in Easter egg hunts and at family gatherings,” said Tricia Bowles, Nestlé USA Confections & Snacks. “This year, we’ve introduced PEANUTS® characters to our Nestlé Easter collection and a few exclusive, novel treats that are sure to surprise and delight this holiday season.”

“Charlie Brown and the PEANUTS® gang love NESTLÉ CRUNCH,” said Carolann Dunn, executive director of hard goods at Peanuts Worldwide. “We’re thrilled to partner with NESTLÉ CRUNCH for its Easter chocolate collection. It’s an honor to have the PEANUTS® gang share in memory-making moments with Nestlé Crunch this Easter.”

Thanks to this wonderful “pairing”,  NESTLE® has introduced these wonderful PEANUTS® shaped or packaged products and more goodies this holiday.

Crunch

NEW! NESTLE® CRUNCH® Snoopy

The beloved Snoopy comes to life with the NESTLE® CRUNCH® Snoopy “bunny.” Classic NESTLE® CRUNCH® chocolate takes the shape of everyone’s favorite PEANUTS® character creating the perfect Easter basket addition. (MSRP $3.49, 4.5 oz)

My husband LOVES NESTLE® CRUNCH®. It’s one of his favorite candies. To be honest I never saw these candies. My husband pretty much enjoyed them all himself. He took them to work with him and put them in a large mason jar he keeps on his desk that he fills with sweets. At least I was able to take a photo of them. LOL!

CR_PNTS_Medallion_Wrap_1p2oz_NCP

NEW! NESTLE® CRUNCH® Sharable Medallion

Getting in on the fun are the NESTLE® CRUNCH® Sharable Medallions – happiness is sharing these bite-sized chocolate pieces with friends and family. (MSRP $0.49, 1.2 oz)

Caramel

NEW! NESTLE® CRUNCH® Creamy Caramel NestEggs

There are many ways NESTLE® CRUNCH® can be combined with complimentary flavors and the NESTLE® CRUNCH® Filled NestEggs with Creamy Caramel are a delicious example. Taking the familiar taste of NESTLE® CRUNCH® and combining it with rich, creamy caramel makes for the tastiest Easter eggs ever! (MSRP $2.99, 10 oz)

If you love chocolate and caramel you need to try these. They are oh-so-good! I love that they are individually wrapped “eggs.” Just one (or two) is enough to satisfy my sweet tooth. They bite sized too. My husband tosses a small handful in his lunch bag. He likes being able to grab one or two when he’s craving something at work.

sours

NEW! SweeTARTS® Chewy Sours

For some, nothing satisfies like sour candy! New this year is SweeTARTS® Chewy Sours, which are made with no artificial flavors and deliver every bit the sour kick needed for an exciting holiday treat. (MSRP $2.29, 12 oz)

These are super sour. My kids and my husband absolutely love these. They are just too sour for my taste. I do like that they are chewy. And they are packed with flavor. They just make my lips pucker. LOL!

Not mentioned above are Peanut Butter filled NESTLE® CRUNCH candies that also feature the lovable PEANUTS® character Charlie Brown.

PB

These candies are very rich and creamy. If you love peanut butter and chocolate together you’ll want to try these out. They even have the crispy crunch of regular NESTLE® CRUNCH candies.

Of course there are plenty of other great NESTLE® products to fill your Easter baskets with this year. I “heart” NESTLE® Butterfingers. I find that the bars are too much. I enjoy the snack size ones better. These Butterfinger eggs are even better.

We haven’t used the jelly beans yet. I’m saving them for an Easter Egg hunt we’re planning on the holiday.

My kids enjoyed the Nerds candies.

nestle candy

I love the PEANUTS® packaging, especially because my family are such huge fans of the franchise.

I think it’s fabulous that these two iconic American brands have come together to offer fans and consumers one-of-a-kind chocolate collections for the holidays. I hope that they continue their partnership throughout the year and beyond.

Look for NESTLE® and the new NESTLE® PEANUTS® products at a store near you.

For more information about NESTLE® brand visit NestleUSA.com. You can also find the brand on the various social media outlets.

What do you think about this fun partnership? Who is your favorite PEANUTS® character? What is your favorite NESTLE® product? Feel free to share your thoughts. I always love to hear from readers.
