This post might not be applicable for my male readers (sorry fellas). This post is aimed towards all the lovely ladies that read my posts.
I am not too keen on admitting this, but I have not worn a bra in ages. It’s not that I don’t want to, it’s just that I’ve never found a bra that fits me comfortably.
I am a plus size woman. When I was younger I had a breast reduction and lift after losing nearly 200 pounds. My surgeon ended up making my breasts too small. I went from a C/D cup to a B cup. That’s not so bad, but the width around me is too big for such a small cup size. So either I can find bras that fit me all the way around, but have large cups, or I find a bra with a cup size that works for me, but are so tight all the way around that I can’t wear them for long.
Sigh… what’s a lady to do?
Because I can’t find the perfect bra, I have resorted to wearing tank tops. They work as my “bra” for all intensive purposes.
Wearing a tank top as a bra is not so bad. Sometimes they show (length), and they don’t provide any support. They also don’t stop the “girls” from showing off the fact that you are cold (I’m sure most ladies know what I mean).
A while back I learned about the fashion line, Phierce Fashions, created by a woman entrepreneur.
Here is some background information.
The face behind Macoma Boutique is 34-year-old former stay-at-home mom and entrepreneur, Ashley McPherson, who was seeking out an inspirational opportunity to support her family, which would also align with her passion for fashion. McPherson debuted the online boutique in 2018 by herself and has since grown her team to 12 people offering more than 50 brands including her very own, Phierce Fashions, who are the creators of Brami.
Last year, thousands of women joined together to break up with their bra and experience a new look with the launch of their Brami Tank. This year, the brand released a long sleeve version.
Brami styles are available in sizes ranging from XS to 3X, which help to support women of all shapes and sizes. More importantly, each shirt is designed and manufactured in the USA by women.
I was sent a Brami to check out for myself. I was sent a black tank top style, since that is what I normally wear. The regular tanks are fine for year round wear, but obviously you want to wear something over them in the colder weather months.
I debated on whether or not I wanted to post a picture of me wearing it. Honestly, I was planning on it, but my flabby arms make me very self conscious. If you follow my blog, you know that I don’t normally post photos of myself. It’s a self conscious thing (and low self-esteem). I don’t feel comfortable showing people what I look like.
Right away I could feel the difference, even before putting it on. This tank top is very well made. It had some nice weight to it. It’s not flimsy or see through like the tanks I normally wear. The tanks I normally wear are cheap ones from Walmart. There is a noticeable difference between them and a “boutique” style tank top like this one.
It’s comfortable to wear. In fact, I don’t even notice that I have it on. It’s comfy like an old pair of sweats (I’m sure everyone has at least one paid of comfy sweats).
The tank top holds my “girls” in place. I feel confident wearing it under my blouse. I know it keeps my “stuff” in place.
The Brami is not the only product that the brand carries. They have many nice articles of clothing (tops, bottoms, loungewear, swimwear…), as well as shoes, accessories and even home décor.
If you would like to check out all the brand has to offer, as well as the Brami, visit MacomaBoutique.com. You can also check out the brand on Facebook, Instagram and YouTube. Those links are found on the bottom right of the brand’s website.
