… Bella.
We FINALLY came up with the name for our newest family member. After being named Fran by the shelter, then Minnie (she was a TINY kitten or rather a mini-sized kitten). We finally settled on Bella. Or Bella the Best (she may be small but she’s a little beast sometimes. LOL!).
The name Bella just came to me but she does have “fangs” and knows how to use them. If you follow the Twilight series Bella is the name of the main character. She didn’t start out as a vampire but ended up becoming one. It seems fitting that our mini-vampire (kitten) is named after a fictional vampire character (Bella).
Here is a cute picture of her that I took tonight. She has a lot of soft and snuggly blankets and pillows available to her but for some odd reason she opted to fall asleep inside of a tissue box that she likes to play with.
Bella plays with this box but not toys. She has a few toys (normal cat/kitten toys) but is happy with the box and a small plush lamb. Silly kitty!
A special thank you to everyone who offered suggestions on what to name her. I appreciate that you took the time to leave me comments both here and on my Facebook page (even a few people e-mailed me directly). You offered some really cute and fun names. It was hard to narrow it down. For some reason Bella just stood out the most.
Below is a picture of her acting like a vampire. She looks like she’s about to take a chomp out of my husband’s neck (LOL).

Kitties will always prefer home items they find themselves, like toilet paper rolls. But if you want them to play with an item in particular, keep it in with your soiled laundry (waiting to go into the wash-not mud but something with personal scents like perspiration on it ). It will transfer your scent to the toy and that scent makes them comfortable with the toy. This same thing is especially helpful if they go to the vet over night. Bring something of yours from the laundry and it will make them feel more comfortable with something familiar. I had two in at one time. One got pants and the other got a shirt.

Hehe! What a great name! As a long time obsessive devoted fan of the Twilight series, I can definitely appreciate the name 🙂
And you’re right, she DOES look like a Bella! I love how you added ‘Beast’ to the end of that, too.
She’s just so damn cute!!!! >.<

She is precious and the name fits her. Our sweet cat just turned 14 years old – today! May you have many years of happiness with sweet Bella 🙂

You can see how tiny she is in the tissue box. A kitten was dumped on our road, Friday, so we have a 4th cat. She doesn’t have a name, yet.

I’m so glad to see that Bella is doing well. She’s still so tiny! You’ve been through so much, so it brings tears of joy to my eyes to see Bell thriving.
Your tales of Bella’s fangs definitely bring back memories of when my little Kali (now 2 1/2) was a right royal terror!

We have brother/sister kitties, and the female is named Bella. I have a great picture of her on my blog with her “fangs” showing! http://susanheim.blogspot.com/2010/11/wordless-wednesday-tired-kitty.html The picture is deceiving, though, because she’s actually the sweetest cat ever!

I feel silly now. I was reading from the older posts and wrote a suggestion and then asked if you’d chosen yet.
I’m glad you picked a name and that she’s doing so well.

She is so adorable!! Isn’t it funny how cats prefer the simpler things in life (boxes, wadded up paper, string, TP rolls) and the store-bought toys are just a bonus? Ha! My cats like to sleep in printer paper box lids and put their toys in those. Enjoy your newest family member!
