I’m always on the look out for products that taste great and are healthy for me and my family. Tasting great is really important because no matter how healthy something is, if it doesn’t taste good, my kids are not going to eat it. Nor will my husband.
I try and eat a handful of nuts every day. I encourage my family to do the same. Sadly nuts don’t sit well in my husband’s tummy so the best I can get him to eat is some peanut butter. Thankfully my kids love all kinds of nuts.
I have heard of butters made out of nuts. When I think if nut based butters I think of peanut butter. They are actually nothing alike.
I had the opportunity a while ago to sample an Almond based nut butter called Dr. Nammy’s Almond Fusion. The difference between this almond butter and other almond or nut butters is that Dr. Nammy’s Almond Fusion butter is “fused” with a variety of spices. Think of it as almond butter with a “kick”.
Thankfully Dr. Nammy’s Almond Fusion is available in mind and spicey. I don’t like things too hot or spicy. I tried the mild version and it had just enough spices for me. Any more spices would have been too spicy for my personal preference.
I suppose you are wondering why anyone would want to eat Almond Butter. That is certainly a very good questions.
Dr. Nammy’s Almond Fusion is a gluten-free and healthy alternative to high-fat spreads and dips. Almond Fusion can be used like chutney, pesto, veggie dip or a marinade.
Gluten is a serious problem for many people. Did you know that 1 out of every 133 people in the United States has some form of gluten intolerance? Almond Fusion is gluten free.
Almond Fusion also offers all the healthy benefits of almonds. Almonds are rich in natural protein. An ounce of almonds has as much protein as a large egg. They are also cholesterol and sodium free. Almonds also contain fiber (to keep you feeling full and satisfied), calcium, riboflavin, niacin and the antioxidant alpha-tocopheral vitamin E.
Almond Fusion can be enjoyed in a variety of ways. When I sampled Dr. Nammy’s Almond Fusion I spread it on crackers. You don’t need much. Just a little bit gives you plenty of flavor. With other spreads you often have to lay it on thick to get the full flavor. With Almond Fusion you don’t even need to spread it on the entire cracker. I found that just spreading it on one corner was sufficient. You have to keep in mind that this is made with almonds and nuts are high in fat and calories. However in moderation the Almond Fusion is certainly a much better choice then a cheese spread or dip.
My kids were “iffy” on the Almond Fusion. It does look like some kind of a odd peanut butter, but it’s not smooth and creamy like a peanut butter. It has a different, somewhat “grainy” appearance. It’s a lot like a home made peanut butter.
I did try it on whole wheat toast too. It was pretty good. Even though I had it for breakfast it seemed more like a snack with the spicy kick.
There are a few recipes on the Dr. Nanny’s Almond Fusion website but I never had the opportunity to try them out. I know my husband couldn’t eat anything made with it since the nuts bother his stomach. My kids are also very picky. They enjoyed the Almond Fusion more so as a snack.
I also try a dollop of Almond Fusion on Granny Smith apple slices. The tartness of the apple and the spicy, nutty Almond Butter was an amazing combination. Out of all the ways I enjoyed the Almond Fusion, that was my favorite.
Overall I liked the Dr. Nammy’s Almond Fusion. It’s “different”. It’s unlike nothing else I’ve tried before. Having the added health benefits is certainly a “bonus”.

I like almond butter much better than peanut butter but cashew butter is my favorite. I have to go to Whole Foods Market to find it though and it’s not close to us. Never really thought about ordering them online. And I like spicy stuff so this could be a good one to try.
