This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Slim-Fast for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.
I have tried every diet under the sun. You name it, I probably have some experience with it (except eating live tape worms – EWW!). I have done Weight Watchers, Nutrisystem, Optifast, diet pills, starvation, binge and purge, exercising like a crazy person, cabbage soup… I have pretty much done it all. Some weight loss options are just insane and I feel like a fool for even doing them (diet pills, starvation, binge and purge). Others are great, but very expensive to keep up with. Plus who has time for meetings or to check in with a diet counselor.
It’s not easy to lose weight. Trust me, I know. I’ve even had weight loss surgery, yet I’m STILL overweight.
It’s hard to control your weight. Part of my problem is that I love food. I’m not a big candy or chip eater. I would rather have a big bowl of pasta smothered in butter then a bowl of ice cream. I am also an emotional eater. I eat when I’m bored. I eat when I’m stressed. I eat when I’m happy… you know how that goes.
There are easier, more affordable options if you are willing to stay committed and have discipline. I have the commitment, but I lack discipline. That is my biggest down fall.
I used to use Slim-Fast a lot in my teen years. Especially when I was in college. I was always on the go because I went to school full time and worked two part time jobs. It would have been easy for me to grab something from the nearest drive thru to eat. Instead I used to carry Slim Fast shakes with me so I could be satisfied and to hold me over until I was able to get home and have a real meal.
I haven’t used Slim-Fast in a long time. I was excited to give the shakes a try again after all these years. Especially now that Slim-Fast has introduced its richest, creamiest, best-tasting shakes ever – all inside a deliciously convenient bottle that’s designed to go everywhere, from your purse to your desk or gym bag. Gone are those metal cans that couldn’t be resealed after you opened them. I wasn’t a fan of the powder that you had to measure and mix too. I like convenience. I want to be able to open up a bottle and enjoy.
Slim-Fast has come a long way since I last used the plan. Years ago there were only chocolate and vanilla flavored shakes. Now Slim-Fast offers;
– Creamy Milk Chocolate
– French Vanilla
– Rich Chocolate Royale
– Cappuccino Delight
– Strawberries N’ Cream
So far I have tried the Cappuccino Delight and the Creamy Milk Chocolate. I really want to try the Strawberries and Cream too. That is the next one I’m going to try. So far the Cappuccino Delight is my favorite. Try it in a blender with some ice. It is so good that way. Yummy!
The Slim-Fast shakes are much tastier then I remember. They are more creamy and rich tasting. They kind of remind me of an ice cream shake that melted a bit (so there is no ice cream). The last time I had a Slim-Fast shake it tasted more like chocolate milk made with skim milk, so it had a bit of a watery taste to it. Not the new shakes. Wow! I’m impressed. It’s hard to believe these are “diet” shakes.
Each shakes provides you with up to four hours of hunger control. They offer a whopping 10 grams of protein (wow!), five grams of fiber and 24 essential vitamins and minerals.
Slim-Fast also offers snack and meal replacement bars. OH MY! They are SO GOOD! My teen daughter had one of the Chocolate Fudge Brownie meal bars (she thought it was a snack). She said it tasted just like a chocolate bar. She didn’t believe me that it was a meal replacement bar.
I LOVE the Chocolate Mint snack bars. They are almost TOO GOOD. I have to keep the box in the pantry so I don’t see if. If I look at the box I’m going to want to eat one.
Other product flavors include Chocolate Peanut Caramel, Peanut Butter Crunch Time, Chocolate Cookie Dough, Sweet and Salty Chocolate Almond (I MUST try that one!) and Fruit & Yogurt Trail Mix, to name a few.
Are you familiar with the Slim-Fast 3-2-1 Plan? I just recently learned about it and it sounds like a plan that I can follow. It’s easy enough to do and I love how the products are readily available at my local grocery store.
The plan gives you quick results if you do it right. Plus it’s flexible so you can get the structure you want and the variety you crave.
Here is the plan’s outline.
– 3 Snacks: Enjoy three nourishing snacks a day such as Slim-Fast 100-calorie snack bars, fruit, nuts or veggies. The Slim-Fast 100-calorie snack bars provide a delicious calorie-controlled snack to help curb sweet cravings between meals.
– 2 Slim-Fast Shakes or Meal Bars per day: Slim-Fast shakes and meal bars are delicious and satisfying, providing the balanced nutrition of a meal and up to four hours of hunger control.
– 1 Balanced Meal: Enjoy one balanced 500-calorie meal per day. As a rule, try to fill half your plate with veggies, a quarter with protein, and a quarter with whole grains.
You can replace lunch and dinner with a shake, or breakfast and lunch. I would opt for lunch and dinner because breakfast is a really important meal and it gives you the energy you need all day.
The plan is really easy to follow. And with the variety of flavors available for Slim-Fast products you won’t get bored with them easily.
I know the holiday season is a hard time when it comes to sticking to a weight loss plan. Trust me, I see a Gingerbread Cookie and my mouth starts to water. But food is NOT the #1 reason for the season. Being with friends, family and loved ones is what is most important, not food. It’s better to enjoy precious moments with them rather then gobble up all the foods available during the holidays and packing on 10+ pounds.
Even if you don’t follow the Slim-Fast 3-2-1 plan you can still supplement a meal and/or snack during the day if you plan on going to a big holiday dinner or cocktail party later on in the evening.
Slim-Fast products are available in the pharmacy section of many grocery and retail locations nationwide. You can also find them at places like Wa-Mart, Target, Safeway and Kroger. They are even available online at Amazon.com.

Kimberly, I am also an emotional eater. Bored, scared, sad…happy, excited, its crazy how food becomes such a HUGE part of our lives instead of just fueling our bodies. I have a pact with my husband that we will work really hard after the holiday treats and buffet’s all put away, that we will lose, tone, and not sabbotage each other. Slim fast is on my success list to do so. I love the milk chocolate best. If I dont have a great breakfast (which I hate) I know this will give me the nutrients I need. For me, having a shake takes the guesswork out of eating and gives me back control to just STOP making life about food, and just eat already and get on with the real parts of life.
