I also learned that a shocking 2.2 million Americans complain of being tired every day? Wow! I know a lot of people feel tired a lot but I didn’t expect 2.2 MILLION people?
I often feel very tired throughout the day. I blame it on my anemias (I have both B-12 and Iron deficiency anemias), stress, lack of exercise, poor diet (which I am working on) and not getting enough sleep at night.
Our diets play a big role in not only how we feel during the day, but it can also effect our sleep and cause us to have sleep issues. The National Sleep Foundation suggests the best bedtime snack is one that contains both carbohydrates and proteins.
To support National Sleep Awareness Week (March 5-11), Whole Foods Market has come up with a list of healthy snack options that may just help you catch the zzz’s you’ve been dreaming of… PLUS, March is also National Nutritional Month—the perfect time to be spreading the word about treats that keep us healthy whether we’re awake or asleep.

I always thought it was wrong to eat before going to bed. I guess I was wrong.
I have used decaf tea and herbal teas to help me relax in hopes that I can fall asleep quickly and easily. Allegro’s Organic Green Tea (decaffeinated) is a great option. If you like the taste of Green Tea you’ll certainly love this tea. It’s very flavorful. I don’t add anything to it. I like it “plain”. It provides me with something warm and tasty to enjoy but without the worries of having caffeine before bedtime. I find the tea very relaxing. It’s the kind of tea you enjoy with a snugly blanket and a good book right before calling it a night. If I feel that way about the Green Tea I can only imagine what their Relaxing Chamomile or Peaceful Slumber are like.
What are some of the things that YOU do to help ensure a restful night sleep? I would love to hear from my readers.

I do think as working busy moms, we do not get enough sleep at all. I know I don’t and when I do sleep sometimes it is not a refreshing sleep. I sleep better on weekends when I do not have to get up early for work. At night I do try a herbal tea, I take calcium and make sure I eat a little snack. That sometimes helps to fall asleep better. The tips you gave us I will be sure to try also.

Doesn’t it seem poor timing to have sleep awareness week and take away an hour of sleep for daylight savings time?
