Not too long ago I re-did my bedroom walk-in closet. I had posted about it a few weeks ago. It’s so nice to have things so neat and organized. Prior to redoing my closet, it was impossible to find anything (literally!). I felt like my closet came straight out of a cartoon where you open the door and everything, including the kitchen sink, comes spilling out.
When I was doing my closet, I found family photos all over the place. Some where in boxes, others in photo albums. Even some were found loosely on the floor. Sigh…
Many of the photos are of my family members that are no longer with us, including our pets. I feel bad keeping the photos in a box. They should be displayed where we can look at them fondly and cherish the memories we have of the people we love in the photos. My project for next summer (I don’t work the summer months) is to organize the photos.
There is a fun way that you can showcase your photos, and they can be appreciated by both adults and children. They are magnetic photos tiles from the brand Createon.
Createon allows consumers to have their favorite photos put on magnetic tiles (both sides!). Before you go on thinking that these are simply magnets you stick to your fridge – thing again! These tiles can be stacked on top of each other, made into cubes, and even played with like a toy (yes! it’s true!).
Createon is known for their magnetic tiles that children use as toys. They also have sets that adults can “play with” as well.
This very brief (30 seconds!) video shows you some Createon magnetic tiles “in action.”
These are really cool! I work with children (K-6th grade) and I can see the value of these toys. Not only do they have a learning aspect to them (some of them do), but they can also be played with so many different ways. You can also combine sets too.
The magnetic tiles stick end-to-end as well as the back and front side of one another. You can build with them, turn them into a “road” for kids to drive toys on, or use them as magnets to decorate your fridge. When my kids were little they used to love playing with the fridge magnets. I used to have letter and number ones too. They had a blast making words with them. I can see a child doing the same thing with these tiles.
Createon has so many different styles/brands to choose from. Here are just a FEW of the available sets.
As you can see, they have sets for children and adults. Children and adults can even play with these together.
Not that it’s a “selling point,” but these also take up little space since they all stick together. Plus you can form them into shapes and display them on a shelf or mantle.
So what does personal photos have to do with this? A lot! Createon has the option for you to turn your favorite photos into magnetic tiles.
You have the option of two large tiles and eight small ones (double sided!) giving you 20 images, or one large and twelve small ones (also double sided) for 26 images.
Creaton let me create a set of tiles to try out for myself. I used a mix of photos of me and my husband, my kids, my whole family together, my current pets and pets that have passed on.
I must rather SEE my photos then let them waste away in a shoebox somewhere in my closet. Why take photos if you are not going to look at them on a regular basis.
I tired to create shapes to display them on our television stand, but our cats had other ideas. Since they like to run across the television stand, they would knock them over (most especially our kitten). Currently they are in my fridge. That is fine with me. I love seeing them every time I’m in the kitchen, and I like flipping them around so that they display different photos.
** PLEASE NOTE ** The tiles are nicer in person. The coloring and lighting are off with my phone photos. In addition, the tiles will look just like the original photo. A few of my photos were not the best to begin with (like the photo of my family and my brother with his family). The original photo was over edited and looks horrible, but my brother and sister in law are no longer with us, so I want to display that photo to remember the good times we had together.
I think these photo tiles would be great for a child. You can put family members on the tiles – including grandparents, cousins, aunts and uncles. Kids will enjoy seeing their loved ones, and being able to play with them as well.
The holidays are fast approaching. These tiles (personalized photos or pre-made ones) would make a great gift. The photo tiles would make a great gift for a loved one who lives far away, or for grandparents.
If you would like to learn more about these fabulous tiles, visit Createon.com. The brand can also be found on social media. All of their links are found on the bottom right of their website.
What do you think about these tiles? Would you be interested in creating your own, or do you have a favorite pre-made set? Feel free to comment and share your thoughts. I always love to hear from readers.
