Does your family enjoy playing games together? If so, I have a fun new game you might be interested in.
When my family and I are waiting for our food to arrive at restaurants, or we’re bored waiting at a doctor’s office for the nurse to call our name, we like to engage in a few rounds of Tic Tac Toe. It’s such an easy game. All you need is some paper and a pencil. Both young and old alike can play it and enjoy it.
I work with young children in a before/after school care program. Sometimes we play Tic Tac Toe too. We also have Connect Four at both sites which is a lot like Tic Tac Toe but instead of getting three in a row you need four in a row. For the record the kids in my afternoon program always beat me at Connect Four. I’m great at Tic Tac Toe, but when it comes to Connect Four I stink at it.
There is a new twist on the classic Tic Tac Toe game that combines Tic Tac Toe with Connect Four. It’s called Tic Stac Toe.
Tic Stac Toe is like regular Tic Tac Toe except it’s done in 3D. You can literally stack you pieces to make the game “pop” from the game board. You need to get FOUR in a row (vertically, horizontally or across) to win. Because you can stack the pieces on top of one another it gives you more ways to win.
The game comes with everything you need – game board, pieces and even two “stopper” pieces that prevent you opponent from placing their piece on a spot that could allow them to win.
I was sent the game to review with my family. It’s a bit tricky the first few times you play it until you get the hang of it. We played several times on multiple occasions. I never won a game. My son won the most.
Since my teenagers are not always into playing games, I opted to donate the game to my afternoon kids where I work.
The very first day I brought it to work the kids played with it. They figure it out right away. They range from 4th – 7th graders. It was the 5th grade boys that played with it the most.
One boy fell in love with the game that he actually asked me if he could keep it and take it home with him. I told him I would love to offer him the game but I brought it in for everyone to enjoy. He told me he would bring it in from time to time to let others play with it. LOL! I had to turn him down. I prefer the game staying at work.
The kids love the game and play it several times a week. They really seem to enjoy it.
They don’t use the blocking pieces for some reason. I explained to them what the purpose of the pieces are but they would rather not use them. Since it’s not mandatory I figured it’s OK.
Tic Stac Toe is a fun game that the whole family can enjoy. It’s for ages 8+, but I think even younger kids can understand and play this game.
The game is available at many retail locations including Amazon, Target and Barnes & Noble.

What do you think about this new twist on the classic Tic Tac Toe game?

We love Tic Tac Toe here and I find this new way interesting and confusing at the same time. I bet my grandchildren could figure it out and have fun too!

It reminds me of the game Upwords. Looks like a fun twist on the game.
