Rick and Morty, Adult Swim’s popular grown-up cartoon television series is available today (March 29, 2022) on Blu-ray, DVD and digital. That means you can have all the seasons (1-5) to add to your entertainment collection.
I will admit that I thought Rick and Morty was the weirdest cartoon series I have ever seen. My husband was the first to hear about it (I forgot where he heard about it). He checked it out one day at work, and thought it was so crazy and wild, that he had to have me watch it.
The first few times I watched the show I just thought it was a bit TOO crazy for me. But the show quickly grew on me and now my husband and I will watch it whenever ever we see it’s on.
I have not seen all the seasons (we only started to watch it around season 3, so we really didn’t know how it all started. All we know is that Rick and Morty is one weird, yet entertaining, cartoon. It’s definitely not for young children.
I received the Blu-ray version if seasons 1-5 in this complete set. It was great to finally see the pilot episode, and the first two seasons. Since we already owned season 3, we just skipped past that one. Now we’re watching season 4. We’ve seen some of the episodes, so it’s nice to see the episodes we some how missed.
Each season has ten episodes, with the exception of the first season which has 10 episodes, plus the pilot (11 episodes in total). That’s over 50+ episodes!
Each episode runs about 22 minutes. That means almost 19 hours of episodes, not including the bonus content (see below).
Just in case you are not familiar with the series, here is a brief synopsis.
Rick and Morty is the critically acclaimed, half-hour animated hit comedy series on Adult Swim that follows a sociopathic genius scientist who drags his inherently timid grandson on insanely dangerous adventures across the universe. Rick Sanchez is living with his daughter Beth’s family and constantly bringing her, his son-in-law Jerry, granddaughter Summer, and grandson Morty into intergalactic escapades. Rick and Morty stars Justin Roiland (“Solar Opposites”), Sarah Chalke (“Scrubs”), Chris Parnell (“Saturday Night Live”), and Spencer Grammer (“Greek”). The series is created by Dan Harmon (“Community”) and Roiland who also serve as executive producers.
Some of the things Morty says and does are hysterical. To say he’s a “sociopath” is an understatement. The man is part pure genius, part totally insane lunatic. Ha Ha. I don’t know how his grandson (Rick) can put up with his grandfather (Morty) and his equally crazy family.

I normally check out bonus content, even if it’s for something I am not reviewing. At the time I am writing this, I have not checked out the bonus content for this collection. That does not mean I won’t check it out. I will! My husband and I just wanted to catch up with all the episodes first. After we’ve seen them all, I’ll go back over and check out the bonus content. The only bonus content I won’t watch is commentary (I am not a fan of commentary for any movie/television show i watch).
The boxed set is really nice too. The case it decorated with a nice, futuristic design. Inside the Blu-ray discs have face designs on them.
The boxed set also comes with a large poster that I’m sure fans of the show will enjoy too.
Rick and Morty the Complete Seasons 1-5 is available where ever Blu-rays and DVDs are sold. Digital versions of this set (minus the poster and case of course) are available as well (such as on Vudu).
Are you a fan of Rick and Morty? Do you have a favorite season or episode? Feel free to comment and share your thoughts. I always love to hear from readers.
