Valentine’s Day is fast approaching. The sad thing is that locally, stores have been gearing up for Valentine’s Day since before New Years (at least where I live). Holidays get so rushed these days. I was just in our local dollar store last night and they were setting up for Easter. EASTER! Easter is not until April 21st this year. That is three months away!
Sigh…
Are you planning on getting that special someone in your life a gift for Valentine’s Day? My husband and I normally don’t get gifts for each other. We know we love each other. We don’t need a card to prove that. Besides, flowers die, cards get recycled (unless they are really special, in which case I keep them), and chocolate just goes to my hips (ha ha).
My husband and I don’t normally gift cliché gives to one another either. Even when we were dating and first married, we opted for non-traditional Valentine’s Day gifts.
A recent survey conducted by the online retailer Zulily came up with some interesting results when it comes to the holiday all about love.
Did you know that Valentine’s Day is celebrated by over 40% of Americans? That translates into a whopping 130 million people. I guess the other 60% who don’t celebrate are single, married or just not into celebrating for whatever reason.
When asked ‘what is the most offensive Valentine’s Day gift you’ve ever received,’ a quarter of Americans (24%) unveiled ‘no gift at all,’ followed by ‘a breakup’ (6%). Yikes! A break up on Valentine’s Day? That is really cruel.
Another interesting survey result found that if women were to celebrate ‘Galentine’s Day’ (aka hanging with your gal pals on Valentine’s Day), over a quarter of women would prefer to get pampered (26%). I guess some people prefer mud wraps, massages and manicures over romance.
I wish I had the survey results for what people felt were the best Valentine’s Day gift they ever received.
I do have a very unique gift idea you might want to consider. It’s available on Zulily too. It’s the Valentine’s Day Double-Header Sweater. Talk about a “bonding experience.”
The fun Valentine’s Day Double Header Sweater is available in four unisex designs (pictured below). It’s available in an adult size and is selling for $39.99.
Too bad they didn’t have this for kids. Can you imagine forcing bickering siblings to wear one of these for an hour? Ha Ha.
These would not only to be fun to wear with your significant other, but they would also be great to wear with your best friends, sibling, parents or even your pet.
Zulily surveyed people about the Valentine’s Day Double Header Sweaters, and found that both men and women would prefer to ‘wear it out with their pet (23%/19%), over their significant others or BFFs. Second to ‘wear[ing] it out with their pet[s],’ both men and women would prioritize ‘wear[ing] [a two-person sweater] for a pic, just for social media’ (15%/17%). I can definetly see these sweater pictures and videos going viral on social media. They are just too funny.
Check out this funny video featuring the Double Header Sweater.
Ha Ha.
No matter who you are shopping for this Valentine’s Day, or what your holiday plans are, Zulily has plenty of wonderful gift ideas.
I shop at Zulily year round, not only for gift ideas, but also for home decor, holiday decorations and clothing. I’m a a plus size lady and I love that I can find beautiful, affordable, plus size clothing on their website.
Zulily is always having new deals, so I make it a point to check their site daily. I have the Zulily app which makes it easy to check deals and shop. But you can also shop online at Zulily.com. The brand is also on social media. You can find all of their links on the bottom of their website.
What do you think about the Valentine’s Day Double Header Sweater? If you had one of these sweaters, who would you wear it with and why? Feel free to comment and share your thoughts.
