I cannot believe that Halloween is just WEEKS away. That’s crazy! It seems like yesterday we were drooling over the idea of attending a Memorial Day barbecue (we never did). Sigh… time is flying too quickly.
I love Halloween. Next to Christmas, Halloween is one of the holidays that I look forward to the most each year. I absolutely LOVE to decorate for the holiday.
When my kids were little, I kept our decorations “family friendly.” Now that my kids are older, I have blood and gore all over our place. We even have a life size “Michael Myers” mannequin standing outside on our balcony, overlooking the parking lot. My family and I get such a laugh out of hearing people in the parking lot questioning if it’s a real person, or a prop. Even our downstairs neighbor saw our decorations when he was looking to buy the condo below us. When he saw our decorations, he knew we were “fun” neighbors.
I have been dressing up as a butterfly at my job for several years. I had waited until the last minute to buy a costume a few years back, and the only thing I could find was butterfly wings and antennae. I paired them with black leggings and a black top. The costume was easy to wear (it didn’t get in the way) and comfortable. I also received a lot of compliments on it.
This year I have been looking for a new costume, most especially because I have some returning students this year at work, and I don’t want them to see me wearing the same costume I’ve worn for the past few years.
I’ve been checking out the costumes and Costumes.com. Talk about an easy URL to remember. If you are looking for costumes, there is no better place than a website called Costumes.com.
Costumes.com has hundreds of great costumes and accessories for men, women and children. They even have the cutest pet costumes.
Here are a few examples.
I LOVE the Scarecrow costume. That is adorable! The little Unicorn too.
What little girl wouldn’t want to wear that Glinda crown?
The scary adult costumes are awesome!
Remember, these are just a few examples.
I’m a plus size woman. It was nice to see that they have costumes for plus size ladies.
I was reading their size guide. It recommends that you buy a size larger because the costumes often run a little smaller than the actual size.
I’m not sure if I would wear these to work, but if I was going to a costume party, I would certainly entertain the thought of wearing one of these costumes.
Costumes.com has plenty of other plus size fashions to choose from. I was thinking of something simple like a witch. They do have a witch costume for plus size ladies.
Don’t forget your pets! Costumes.com has plenty of A-D-O-R-A-B-L-E costumes for pets. They show dogs wearing the costumes, but I once was able to get my cat to wear a Spiderman costume. It all depends on the pet.
I can never get enough of a Dachshund, wearing a hot dog costume. That always cracks me up.
If you already have a costume, but you are in need of accessories to go with it (wigs, props, make-up, hats, jewelry, treat bags…), Costumes.com has you covered. In fact, I was pleasantly surprised by how many accessories that they have available on their website.
Costumes.com also has a nice assortment of Halloween decorations and home décor, from “family friendly” to truly gory and creepy things. I tend to learn more towards the scary stuff.
Costumes.com also carries costumes for Christmas, in case you are looking to dress up as Santa this year for a holiday party. They also have Easter Bunny costumes, St. Patrick’s Day costumes, and costumes for historical figures like British Beefeater, King Tut, Cleopatra and Marc Anthony ( the Roman politician and general, NOT the singer by the same name).
I know the need for historical figure costumes might not always be in high demand, but they do come in handy. My neighbor and friend used to be a teacher’s assistant, and he would often dress up like whatever historical figure they were learning about. It was fun to watch him going down the hallways dressed like Abraham Lincoln and George Washington.
If you are still looking for a costume, accessories, or home décor for Halloween, be sure to check out Costumes.com.
You can also check out the brand on social media (Facebook, Twitter and Instagram). On these social media accounts they are @CostumesDotCom.
What are you dressing up as this Halloween season? Feel free to comment and share your thoughts. I always love to hear from readers.
