Today my family had a celebration dinner at Chili’s Restaurant. We celebrated my husband buying a new car. It’s not really new. It’s a used car, but it’s new to us. My husband bought a really nice Saturn L200 with low mileage. It’s RARE to find a nice car (it barely has any marks on it), with low mileage and a good price. We’ve been looking for months. It’s great that we finally found something.

To celebrate we took the kids to Chili’s for an early dinner (or late lunch, depending on how you look at it). My husband already knew what he was going to order before we even walked into Chili’s. He loves their steakhouse sandwich. It’s seasoned sirloin with onions and mushrooms, provolone cheese and horseradish cream on warm flat bread. I’ve had it before. It’s really good.

My kids ALWAYS get the same thing every time we go – the classic hamburger with just cheese and nothing else on it. Boring! LOL! They really need to try something else from the menu. We don’t even hand them the menu because they always order the same thing.

The kids love to get the nacho chips and salsa. They usually fill up on that before their burgers arrive.

I L♥VE Chili’s salads! They are my FAVORITE! Their Balsamic dressing is the best salad dressing around. I love their salads so much I actually have a photo of one of the salads as my wallpaper on my cell phone (no kidding!).

Chili’s has a new (for a limited time) selection of meals to satisfy your “wild” or “mild” side. I used to love “wild” (hot and spicey) foods. I’ve mellowed out in my “old age”. Ha Ha.

It was hard to pick out what I wanted. On the Wild side they offered Big Mouth Bites which are mini-hamburgers (sliders). The Wild mini-burgers are topped with jalapeño-mayo, jalapeños and American cheese. The burgers are even crusted in peppercorns.

If you love the idea of the mini-burgers/sliders but are not really into Wild you can order their Mild version which features four mini-burgers topped with applewood smoked bacon, sauteed onions American cheese and ranch dressing.

If Quesadillas are more your style you have your choice of the Wild Quesadillas with onions, peppers, jalapeño seasoning and jalapeño Jack cheese. Or you can opt for the Mild version which is made with apple wood smoked bacon and cheese.

They even offer Kicked-Up Quesos on their Wild menu.

The Wild or Mild menu also featured chicken crispers. The Honey Chipotle Chicken Crispers sounded good (they are on the Wild menu) but I oped for the Crispy Sweet Maple BBQ Chicken Crispers. The sweet maple BBQ sauce is what caught my eye. That sounded so good!

My meal came with seasoned fries (seasoned with salt and pepper), corn on the cob and a generous amount of chicken crispers smothered in sweet maple BBQ sauce. MMM… they were really good. Even my husband was sneaking a few bites off of my plate.

The Crispy Sweet Maple BBQ Chicken Crispers are very sweet. They were a wee bit sweeter then I anticipated, but delicious none the less. The crispers are long chicken strips and chunks.

I was stuffed after our meal. I couldn’t eat another bite. I wish I did have more room in my tummy because Chili’s has a new dessert on their menu – a peanut butter molten cake! YUMMY! It is a lot like the chocolate molten cake that oozes out warm chocolate sauce when you cut into it with your fork. The new dessert oozes out peanut butter. It’s also topped with vanilla ice cream coated in a chocolate shell.

I MUST go back SOON just for dessert. I have to try that!

Chili’s is also having a contest where there will be two winners. The “Wild” winner will win a trip to Las Vegas. The “Mild” winner will win a trip to Disney.

Prizes: One (1) winner will be randomly drawn every day and will receive one (1) $20 Chili’s gift card. The most voted ‘Wild’ avatar will win a ‘Wild’ trip to Las Vegas and the most voted ‘Mild’ avatar will win a ‘Mild’ trip to Disney World!

The contest ends on April 30, 2011.

    I’ve had the Blazin’ Big Mouth Bites from the WILD side before and would order them again! They didn’t leave me feeling over-stuffed like a regular burger would.

  45. I absolutely love Chilis and since we have one right down the street we go a few times a month. I am definitely wild and like spicy food. My.favorite used to be the buffalo chicken slides which were DELICIOUS! Now my favorite is the steak fajitas….which are beyond delicious!

  72. I’m more of a wild person. My opinion, if your eyes don’t water with the first bit it’s not hot enough. I’m not sure which menu that steakhouse sandwich your husband got would fall into but that sounds delicious. My stomach’s growling for it right now.
