It’s spring break season for many schools across the country. That means kids will be home from school, and parents will be looking for something fun to do as a family. Heading out to your neighborhood movie theater is always a great choice.
If you are looking for a heart-warming film that will give you the “warm fuzzies,” check out Arthur the King, now playing at theaters across the country. The film is rated PG-13 for language.
Arthur the King stars Mark Wahlberg, Simu Liu, Juliet Rylance, and Bear Grylls, to name a few.
Arthur the King is based on a true story. It’s the story of resilience and companionship. It also stars a dog, and as a huge animal lover, I’m all for seeing any movie that stars an animal.
The film is released by Lionsgate in association with eOne, a Tucker Tooley Entertainment/ Mark Canton/ Municipal Pictures production. It was directed by Simon Cellan Jones and a screenplay by Michael Brandt.
Arthur the King is based on the book Arthur: The Dog Who Crossed the Jungle to Find a Home, written by Mikael Lindnord. The book is available on Amazon (4.6 stars, 2,200+ reviews), as well as other retail locations.
I have not seen the movie as of yet, but I am planning on going to see it either this weekend or next weekend (depending on my husband’s schedule). I’ve been looking forward to seeing it since the first time I saw the film’s trailer.
Here is the film’s official synopsis.
Over the course of ten days and 435 miles, an unbreakable bond is forged between pro adventure racer Michael Light (Mark Wahlberg) and a scrappy street dog companion dubbed Arthur. Based on an incredible true story, Arthur the King follows Light, desperate for one last chance to win, as he convinces a sponsor to back him and a team of athletes (Simu Liu, Nathalie Emmanuel, and Ali Suliman) for the Adventure Racing World Championship in the Dominican Republic. As the team is pushed to their outer limits of endurance in the race, Arthur redefines what victory, loyalty and friendship truly mean.
Here is the film’s official trailer for your enjoyment.
I can’t wait to see this film! It looks so good.
From what I can see online, Arthur the King is receiving rave reviews too.
