Ahh summer… lazy days spent lounging around the pool, or at the beach, chilling out with family and friends. It doesn’t get any better then that, does it?
My father, step-mother and step-brother just got back from my step-sister’s wedding down in the Caribbean (St. Johns). I saw a picture of my step-brother swinging in a hammock hanging from palm trees on the beach. All I could do (aside from being totally green with envy!) is picture myself in that same hammock with a glass of wine or other bubby, swaying back and forth while the cool tropical breeze blows across my face and listening to the calming sounds of ocean waves and seagulls. Ahh… that would be the life.
Sometimes we all just need to kick off our shoes and find some quality R&R, especially with family and friends.
There is a cool new web site called Barefoot Republic (http://www.republic.barefootwine.com/) that wants to encourage beach and wine lovers and others to kick of their shoes and join in on some fun!
I really enjoyed this site because it gave me a new appreciation for our beaches and how people are destroying them with litter and disgusting things. Check out this post on their site called “Catch of the Day” (CLICK HERE). Look at some of the things found polluting our beaches…GROSS!
Barefoot Republic is doing everything it can to help clean up our beaches so that people can kick off their shoes, relax and enjoy their beauty. With the stress over my husband’s job I think we could use some time away to kick back and relax. My favorite cousin lives on a lake in PA. I would love to get together with her and my entire family that lives in PA and hang out by the lake with a few bottles of amazing wine or bubbly, maybe start a fire, roast some marshmallows and just relax and chat the night away. Ahhh… that would be PERFECT!
