I knew I was going to enjoy this book the moment I saw the cover. It’s hard not to fall in love with that adorable little face.
“Itchy Pig” is a story about a little piglet who suffers from seasonal allergies. I think a lot of children, and adults, can relate to that and just how horrible it is.
We have a cat with seasonal allergies and severe asthma. Her asthma is worse in the fall/winter.
The little piglet ignores his mom’s advice not to go outside. As a result he is hit with some horrible consequences – itchiness – and a lot of it. Plus he gets stuffy and starts to feel “blah.” He was having too much fun and not paying attention to his surroundings and the things that triggers his allergies.
All hope is not lost. The little piglet learns to deal with his seasonal allergies, allowing him to explore the outside world. He also learns a valuable lesson – always listen to your mother.
First and foremost the illustrations are super adorable. I especially love the one with the little piglet in his red rain boots. Too cute!
A lot of children suffer from allergies. I like that this book addresses allergies. It’s a great way to educate children about allergies as well as to let children who suffer from allergies know that they are not alone and that there are ways to deal with them so as not to dampen their fun.

The book is 28 pages long and for ages 2-6 years old.
About the Author
I am a native Californian. I am married and live in Raleigh, North Carolina. I value the art of writing and poetry. I am an avid animal lover and advocate for animal welfare. I adopted an abused and neglected pit bull puppy named Gunner. This sick little pup was always itchy and scratchy, and we came to find out that Gunner was a very allergenic dog and suffered from many allergies. With his short tattered ears and large snout, Gunner received the nickname Itchy Pig. As I became more confident in writing, I decided to combine my passion for writing and animals; from this, Itchy Pig was born, teaching young children the importance of seasonal allergies. I strive to inspire and entertain those of all ages by making education fun.
