Do you enjoy drinking tea? I do. In fact, I’ve been drinking tea since I was a kid (back in the Stone Age – ha ha).
My mom and grandparents were from Wales. They drank tea every day (usually around 4:00 PM). My mom used to let me have tea with them, although back then I preferred mine to be sweet with milk. These days I drink tea plain (black) or with lemon, depending on the brew. For some odd reason I can’t drink it if it has sugar and/or milk in it, even though that is how I drank it as a kid. I guess my tastes have changed over the years.
I am a big time coffee drinker, but I do like to mix things up and enjoy a cup of tea or two instead of a “cup of Joe.”
My pantry is filled with a variety of teas. I think I have almost every type of tea you can think of from green tea to breakfast tea, and from herbal tea to chai tea. The only type of tea I don’t have is matcha (I’m not a fan).
I normally use tea bags, but if I’m craving a really tasty cup of tea, I’ll use loose teas.
I usually heat up the water in my kettle. Occasionally (if I’m in a rush or feeling impatient) I’ll use my e-Brewer to brew a cup of hot water.
I recently received an incredible device that helps you to brew the perfect cup of tea, quickly and easily, regardless of the type of tea you want to drink. It’s called velociTEA, and it’s from the brand Adagio Teas.
Not long ago I reviewed Adagio’s Twelve Teas of Christmas. You can read that post here.
Adagio Teas’ velociTEA is a revolutionary device that heats water and prepares tea at push of a button. Its ingenious design pumps water from the base into the infuser basket, steeping tea leaves as it circulates. Ideal time and temperature settings for each variety of tea ensure a perfect strength for a chosen variety. When tea is ready, the kettle will keep it warm for 60 minutes to ensure that the last cup tastes as good as the first.
The velociTEA kettle is a great size, allowing you to brew several cups of tea at the same time. I believe it can brew up to 40 ounces of tea at one time. The amount of tea you get depends on what size cups you are using, and how much tea you pour into each cup. I drink from a mug, so it holds more fluid than a traditional tea cup.
The kettle feels very sturdy and well made. It has some weight to it as well. It’s not heavy. What I mean is that it doesn’t feel fragile.
To use velociTEA, simply add the amount of water you want into the kettle. Next, add your favorite loose tea into the tea basket, then place it inside the kettle and put the lid on top.
Put the kettle on the heating plate and select the type of tea you are brewing. The available options are;
- Green Tea (2 minutes)
- White Tea (3 minutes)
- Oolong Tea (4 minutes)
- Black Tea (5 minutes)
- Herbal Tea (7 Minutes)
There is also an option for “heat only,” meaning you only want to heat up hot water and not tea. This is great if you are making hot cocoa or instant soups.
Once you select your option, the water will bubble and swirl inside the kettle, utilizing the perfect temperature and brew time for the type of tea you are making to ensure a perfect cup of tea is brewed.
I only have loose Oolong tea, and a chamomile mix. I have not been able to try the velociTEA with other blends, yet.
I find that loose teas produce a fresher tasting tea. I also think that loose teas have better flavor.

Large basket for loose teas.
So far I am loving the velociTEA. Since my kids (young adults) also drink tea (my husband will drink Oolong from time to time), I like that I can make everyone a cup of tea in one shot. It’s also great for those days that I know I am going to drag and I’ll need the extra caffeine to make it through my day.
VelociTEA will keep your tea warm for up to 60 minutes. My coffee maker doesn’t even do that.
I like that the cord coils up underneath it so that you can tuck the excess cord away. You can take out as much as you need to reach the outlet you want to use.

Be sure to check out all the unique teas that are available on the Adagio Teas website. Check out the “Fandom Blends.” There you’ll find interesting teas like Pancake Cookie, Gingerbread, Pumpkin Juice and you can even create your own blends.
Are you a tea drinker? What is your favorite type of tea?
