It’s a new year. Time for a new you.
For me, there is a lot to look forward to in the new year. There is also a lot of things I’m NOT looking forward to, like getting a year older (ugh!).
I don’t plan on growing old gracefully. I’m not saying I’m going to get plastic surgery, but I do plan on doing all I can to make my skin look and feel good.
Looking back on my years, I wish I had taken better care of my skin. I grew up in a time where people would slather baby oil on their skin and sit out in the sun to fry like a piece of bacon. WHY did I ever think that was OK? Ugh!
I never wore sunscreen growing up. For that reason I’ve had eight “suspicious” moles removed from my body. OUCH!
I don’t feel my age, and I don’t act my age. I just have to make sure I don’t LOOK my age, or at least look like a better version of myself at my age (if that makes sense?). Meaning, I’m 53 years old. I don’t want to look 53. I’d like to look in my mid-40’s. I don’t want to look like a 20 year old. That is not realistic.
Taking better care of my skin is a high priority. That is why I love reviewing beauty products. It’s a great way to learn about brands and products I might not otherwise get to know about. Some products I was sent to review end up being favorites of mine and I go on to purchase them over and over again.
A while back I had to opportunity to review some products from the brand Julie Lindh.
It’s not enough to want to look and feel better. It’s essential to understand the process to get there. This is where Julie Lindh comes into the picture, helping thousands of women get to know their skincare needs and the steps needed for improvement. The brand is the answer to skincare with high-tech appeal. Each item is developed under the careful eye of Julie, who has over 20 years in the beauty and wellness industry.
I received the following products to review.
Pore Cleansing Brush and Spatula
This is a very odd beauty accessory. I have never seen, or even heard of anything like this before. It’s a brush on one side, and a spatula (like what you bake with) on the other side.
According to the brand;
What is it:
Our facial brush is 100% natural food-grade silicone. A gentle silicone pore cleansing brush to buff away the buildup of oil and dirt.
What is does:The brush side helps to clean and exfoliate your skin, softens the skin to open pores and gently removes impurities and dead skin. It also promotes blood circulation. The uneven side helps with product absorption and a gentle massage to the skin.
The spatula is perfect for mask applications.Benefits:
Ultra hygienic food grade silicone
Cleanses Effectively and evens skin tone
Exfoliates Gently and boost circulation
Reduces impurities in pores and combats acne
Massages skin and incredibly gentle on the skin
Deeper product penetration
This took me a bit to get used to using. I normally use my hands and wash clothes to wash my face and apply beauty products. However, after using it I realize that this is a genius idea. It’s much better than using a washcloth. A washcloth can be abrasive where as this tool glides over your skin smoothly without irritating it.
I feel like my skin is cleaner using this tool. The bristle side is gentle, yet effective. This is great for people with clogged pours, but it’s also great for people with normal skin who just want their skin to feel as clean as it possible can.
The spatula side is great for applying products such as moisturizer and serums. It’s gentle, so there is no tugging on your skin, especially the delicate areas.
This is a product I never knew I’d “need” in my life.
Infrared Sheet Mask in Hyaluronic Acid and Rose Serum
I like using beauty masks. It’s not something I do often because I don’t always have the 15-30 minutes to sit there with it on my face. For me, using a beauty mask is a treat.
This face mask is unlike any other mask I have personally ever used before. For one, this mask can be reused up to five times. NICE! Usually masks are good for only one treatment, then you toss them out. This mask allows you to use it multiple times.
This mask looks a bit peculiar too. There are dots all over it. I thought it was just to make it look nice, but the dots serve a purpose.
What it is:
Julie Lindh’s Infrared Sheet Masks use organic elements that emit infrared rays to reduce signs of aging, such as dark spots and wrinkles, and improves lymphatic drainage and circulation.
What it does:
These revolutionary sheet masks use an intelligent temperature-sensing system that contains the mineral tourmaline and the element germanium – together they give off an infrared ray that’s absorbed by your skin’s cells. This mask helps to reduce signs of aging, tightens skin, lightens dark spots, improves circulation, and encourages lymphatic drainage. Your skin will look brighter, fresher and rejuvenated after just one use!
WOW! This mask feels SO NICE! It’s comfortable to wear. It doesn’t feel slimy where it feels like it might fall off your face if you move. It also doesn’t make your skin feel dry (or itchy) as you are waiting for the appropriate amount of time to utilize it.
My skin feels SO GOOD after I use this. It feels smooth, as in silky smooth. It also feels well hydrated.
I’ve never had a facial before, but I can imagine it must feel something like your face feels after using this mask.
I haven’t noticed anything like tighter skin and lighten dark spots, but I suspect that must take multiple uses to achieve. What I have noticed is that my skin feels amazing. So much so that I don’t want to apply anything else on my skin. This is truly a luxury product.
You can also use the spatula side of the cleaning brush and spatula I wrote about at the start of this post and use it to rub in any of the left over product on your skin. I didn’t need to, but in case you need to rub anything in you can use that.
I’m glad that I was introduced to this brand. I really enjoy the products I received to review. I have the site bookmarked and I plan on purchasing more products in the future (after I finish paying off the holiday bills – ha ha).
