#CampWarnerBros Week 6 – Reach for the Stars!

I cannot believe that we are already on week six of #CampWarnerBros. Where has the summer gone? Some children have even returned to school. Fortunately, most kids still have a few more weeks left before it’s back to reading, writing and arithmetic.

This week at #CampWarnerBros we are going to “shoot for the stars.”

This week’s movie is called Alex & Me. It’s a movie about a young athlete who learns what it takes to make your dreams come true.

What does your camp dream about? What would he/she like to do when they get older?

When my daughter was younger, she wanted to be a fashion designer. In fact, that was her dream from the time she was six until she was around 15. I’m impressed that she was determined to become a fashion designer for so many years.

Summer is a great time to not only have fun, but also to re-evaluate your hopes and dreams, and plan out some goals you should try to achieve in order to get one step closer to living your dream.

In the film Alex & Me, the character Reagan (played by Siena Agudong from Nicky, Ricky, Dicky & Dawn) utilizes a chart to help keep herself on track, as well as to see how she is progressing towards her goals.

This week at #CampWarnerBros, we’d like for you, your camper and your family to follow your dreams and “reach for the stars” by keeping track of your goals using a special chart, provided by #CampWarnerBros.

You can also download the chart here – Camp Warmer Brother Goal Chart.

You the chart to help campers to hold themselves accountable, and mark off each item on their list as they are completed. This is a great way to help campers (and yourself) to get closer to your dreams, and accomplishing what you want, not only during the summer, but also year round.

Alex & Me is a story about a teenager name Reagan Willis. She dreams on one day becoming a famous soccer player like her hero, Alex Morgan.

Reagan live and breaths her soccer hero. Even her room is a shrine to Alex, including a life-size poster of the Olympic gold medalist.

Reagan’s dreams seem to be squashed when she fails to make the cut of the premiere local soccer club team. To make matters worse, she is humiliated by her nemesis Claire.

Reagan is certain that her dreams of becoming a soccer star like Alex have been broken, that is until she has an accident and something happens that changes her life.

I used to play soccer when I was younger. I was the goalie and sometimes play center forward. I think I was pretty good at the game, but I did it for fun. I never planned on becoming a soccer star like Reagan.

I’m the “biggest” kid (top row, first one on the left). I look really grumpy in the photo. I don’t know why.

My husband has never played soccer. He says it look relatively easy to play. It might look that way, but there is a lot involved with playing soccer. You have to be aware of your surroundings, quick on your feet, and able to work well as part of a team.

This week, why not add some physical activity your #CampWarnerBros and try out the Alex & Me Family Workout.

Did you know that daily exercise, even something as easy as going for a 15-30 minute walk can help reduce anxiety, stress and improves your health? It is even better when you can exercise with your own family “team.”

You can also download the sheet here – Alex and Me Family Workout

Unfortunately I am not able to do any of these exercises yet. My husband had surgery earlier this week for his deviated septum. I am also waiting to hear about my surgery (hopefully soon!).

Just because I am not able to do these exercises with my family, doesn’t mean that you and your family can’t enjoy them. If you do, I would love if if you could comment and tell me which exercise is your favorite. I always love to hear from my readers.

Look for next week’s #CampWarnerBros, staring Tom and Jerry!
