Fun & Whimsical Products from Teddy the Dog

Do you work outside of your home? If so, do you need to get dressed up for your job (office attire), or do you have a more laid back job?

I work outside of the home. I work with children so thankfully I can wear casual, yet neat, attire. After all, if I’ve surrounded by glue, paint and litter – as well as running around on the playground – I shouldn’t be wearing anything too fancy.

I’m a t-shirt and leggings type of person. When I’m not at work I always dress casual and comfy. That doesn’t mean that I look like a slob. I simply choose to wear more comfortable attire.

I don’t normally wear t-shirts with images on them at work, but when I’m home or on my day off I enjoy letting my personality shine through with what I am wearing. I tend to wear t-shirts with funny images or saying on them, or I’ll wear a t-shirt with my favorite horror movie (or characters) or one of my favorite music groups.

About a month ago I was introduced to Teddy the Dog. Teddy the Dog is a brand that carries witty and clever apparel with a unique spin on entertainment, pop culture, and all things dog. They even carry items for your dog, your home, drink ware and more.

Check out some of the fun designs available at Teddy the Dog.

This is just a SMALL sampling of the available designs. Teddy the Dog also has a variety of limited edition designs that come out every week. You need to be quick for the limited edition designs because they only collect orders up to a certain date. Once that date passes you are out of luck.

Teddy the Dog t-shirts are super soft and tagless. Yeah! I hate tags. I always cut them out and sometimes I don’t cut them out good enough and leave the ends of the tag which itch like crazy. I wish more clothing brands would go tagless.

Teddy the Dog was kind enough to send me a shirt to review. They have a wide range of sizes, including plus sizes (thankfully). My shirt is a bright green color. For some odd reason the photos show it as two different colors (neither of which is the true color). The color I have is called Heather Apple.

The “Somewhere Over the Rainbow Bridge” shirt pictured below is the true color (I need to get that shirt too in honor of our dog and cats that have passed on).

Here is the shirt I received in honor of Dr. Seuss’ birthday back in March. How adorable is the design. I love it! I wish I had this shirt the past few years. When I worked with the kindergartners they did fun things to celebrate Dr. Seuss’ birthday. Many of the teachers wore shirts with Dr. Seuss characters on it. This shirt would have been idea for that. That’s OK. I love Dr. Seuss so I have no problem wearing this adorable shirt year round. Not only is adorable, but I love the vibrant green color (green is also my favorite color).

The shirt is soft and very comfortable to wear. A few of my nigh shirts (pajamas) have the same comfy feel to them. That is why I love wearing this shirt. I feel super comfortable in it.

I love how Teddy the Dog even has their logo on the back of the shirt (up near the collar).

The hang tag that was attached to the shirt is also a sticker. You can peel it off and stick it anywhere. What a fun idea!

Teddy the Dog even has a rewards program you might want to check out.

Now you can earn bones (or points) by referring a friend, sharing our posts on social media, and making purchases. Best of all? Each time you reach a new loyalty tier, you earn bones even faster.

Cool! What a great idea.

You can earn gift cards ranging from $5 – $50. I already have a rewards account because there are several items I would love to purchase in the near future from the website. A few items I want to purchase include a reusable shopping bag (our county is doing away with plastic bags). I need to stock up on them. I also want to get the Beagles bag as a gift for a friend who has a Beagle. The “Pittie Party” garden flag is another gift I want to get for a friend who owns the most sweetest Pit Bull.

The magnetic board cracks me up (“No Sit Sherlock”). My family (mom, dad and so forth) used to say “No sh*t sherlock” a lot. LOL!

I think the prices are very reasonable too.

What do you think about Teddy the Dog’s fun designs? Did you see something you’d like to get for yourself or a friend? Feel free to comment and share your thoughts.

This one is for the ladies…

I wanted to specify that this post is more so for ladies than it is gentleman (I have male readers). I don’t want to exclude anyone, specially if my male readers have wives or girlfriends. I just wanted to give them a “heads up.”

I’m going to talk about something somewhat personal – bras.

A little backstory…

I have been overweight all my life. When I was younger I had big boobs. Not huge, but they were a “C” cup.

I had weight loss surgery back in 92′ and lost almost 200 pounds in a little over a year. That was fantastic, but there was a downside to the weight loss – saggy skin and my boobs dropped down to my knees (not literally, but you get the idea). They looked like pancakes. They were more just loose skin and not actual breasts.

In 94′ I had a tummy tuck, hernia repair and a breast reduction. I went from having saggy pancake boobs to firmer boobs, but they were an “A” cup instead of the “C” cup I used to have. Unbeknownst to me at that time the surgeon could have taken fat from my other places on my body and transferred it to my breast area, giving me back my “C” cup boobs naturally (without the need for an implant). Ugh! I wish he would have told me that BEFORE surgery because I would have had him do that. After surgery it was too late. Sigh…

Since 94′ I have been having the hardest time finding a bra that fits me. My problem is that my “width” (the measurement around my body) is that of a plus size woman, but most plus size women have fuller/larger breasts. My breasts are an “A” cup, and it’s hard to find my cup size with my measurement size. For that reason I wear a tank top in place of a bra.

I have found some non-cup sports bras that I have tired to wear over the years, but they are never really that comfortable. The bands are either way too tight or the elastic rolls around, making it so I am constantly having to tug at it or un-roll the band.

I was sent to review some bras from a company called The Breast Whisperer. I know, it’s an odd sounding name. When I think “breast whisperer” I think of someone who can communicate with breast, just like Cesar Millan can communicate with dogs.

Please note, I am not sharing photos of myself in the bras for obvious reasons.

The Breast Whisperer Bra is the invention of a highly respected plastic surgeon and internationally recognized fashion designer, who had the mission to build a seamless bra that can be worn all day and all night. Discover what it’s like to wear a bra so comfortable, you feel like you’re not wearing anything at all.

The Breast Whisperer has bras for regular breasts, as well as breasts breast augmentations and other breast surgeries. I have bras for regular breasts, even though I did have a breast lift decades ago.

The bras themselves look a lot like a sports bra the way they look.

The bra has a racerback. I wasn’t sure how I’d like that. I am used to regular straps, but I can see why the brand opted with this type of back. I think it provides more support and it makes strap-slippage a thing of the past (I hate it when a strap slips into view).

According to the brand, the bra is;

  • A perfect fit with anti-gravity effect
  • Ultra comfortable with hollow, breathable yarns
  • A full support nighttime bra
  • Seamless under clothes
  • Features a racerback shape to relieve pressure
  • Is made with medical grade 95% Nylon and 5% Spandex / Elastane

These bras are designed for both daytime AND nighttime wear, so you know comfort is important. After all, who would want to sleep in an uncomfortable bra? I personally don’t sleep in a bra (I never have), but I know people who do.

I was surprised that these bras fit me so well. As a plus size woman I was afraid they would be too snug and dig into my skin. That was not the case at all. I find them very comfortable to wear.

I know some women are quick to remove their bras the moment they step foot in their home, because most bras are not that comfortable. I feel like this bra would eliminate the desire to remove the bra ASAP when you get home. This bra is so comfortable (for me) that I forget I’m even wearing it. It just feels like a layer of clothing.

PHOTO SOURCE: The Breast Whisperer Facebook page

The material its made with is soft, stretchy and lightweight. I haven’t worn this bra in the heat of summer, but I can only assume it wouldn’t be so bad as other types of bras.

I love that there are no underwires. That was the #1 thing I hated most about wearing bras when I was younger – those darn wires! I hated them so much that I would cut them out of the bras I wore.

I also appreciate that there are no cups with this bra, meaning it should fit an “A” cup as comfortably as someone with a “D” cup. At least I would assume that.

These bras are available in different sizes from small through 3X. They are also available in a variety of colors;

  • Black
  • Blue
  • Coral
  • Charcoal
  • Beige

I have black and beige since they go with the clothes that I wear.

These are not necessarily “sexy” bras, like the kind you would buy from Victoria Secret. This is more of an everyday, no frills, utility type of bra. It’s fine for work, play and just hanging out at home.

So far I am loving this bra. I am happy to FINALLY find a bra that I can wear with my shape/size – one that is comfortable.

Are you in need of an “ugly Christmas sweater” this year?

Our kids all dressed up for Christmas.

I remember when I was a young girl that we had to get dressed up for Christmas. We were dressed in our Sunday best whenever we went to a relative’s (or friend’s) house for a holiday party. I didn’t mind. I enjoyed dressing up.

Over the years I’ve noticed that it’s been the “norm” for people to dress more casually at holiday gatherings. Suits and dressed have been replaced with jeans and t-shirts. Not that there is anything wrong with that. I’m all for being comfortable.

Then… one day… the whole concept of wearing the ugliest Christmas sweater possible became the “in thing.”

Our kids (and my silly husband peeking out from around the corner) wearing ugly Christmas sweaters several years ago. As you can see, our daughter was not amused. LOL!

I remember ugly Christmas sweaters from years ago. I remember them featuring jumping reindeer or a giant Santa head. These days ugly Christmas sweaters feature lights and music, as well as characters like Darth Vadar. It’s crazy… but crazy fun!

There are even holiday parties specifically geared toward ugly Christmas sweaters. Personally, I’ve never been to one, but I’d love to be invited some day.

If you are a fan of the new holiday tradition, and are in need of an ugly sweater, check out UglyChristmasSweater.com. There you’ll find a vast array of ugly Christmas sweaters – and more – to enjoy throughout the holiday season.

Check out these fun designs.

As you can see, UglyChristmasSweater.com has a HUGE assortment of designs for men and women. Currently I don’t see any children’s designs, but most of their sweaters come in an array of sizes, from small to 3XL.

The 3D and light up sweaters are my favorites. I even love the ones that look like you are riding on the back of an elf. They are hysterical!

My ultimate favorite is the pink bunny pajamas like the ones Ralphie was forced to wear in the film A Christmas Story.

I was sent a sweater to review. There are so many fun choices to choose from. I had a hard time narrowing it down. I finally selected this sweater.

It’s available for both men and women (a lot of their sweaters are unisex).

I chose this one because it has three dimensional Christmas stockings hanging from the mantle and a 3D red bow. It also comes with LED lights that give the sweater a unique and eye catching design.

A sweater like this can’t be machine washed. It can only be steam cleaned only. That is fine with me. It’s not like you need to take it to the cleaners month after month. It’s more like once a year.

I don’t really see this sweater as “ugly.” It’s rather cute if you ask me. I also work with young children and I’m sure they would get a kick out of this. This sweater is definitely safe for the workplace and office Christmas party.

UglyChristmasSweaters.com does have some more risque and some what “offensive” ugly Christmas sweaters. Not that they are REALLY bad, it’s just that wearing a sweater that refers to getting “baked” (as in high) might be seen as offensive to some people.

The sweaters on this site are not cheap – in quality or price. The sweater I received to review is very well made. It’s something that will last year after year. I am impressed by the quality.

I don’t have a photo of me wearing the sweater. For me, the size seems to run a bit small. It’s currently a bit snug in my arms. However, I am in the process of losing weight so I am confident I’ll be able to enjoy wearing this sweater soon.

This sweater features a lighted element (the fireplace lights up). Check out the brief video below to see the sweater in action.

The sweater came with batteries already inserted to the battery compartment, which is found inside the sweater. The battery compartment is held in place with Velcro.

This sweater also has 3D elements (stockings and bow). So cute!

Because of it’s quality, and the novelty of these sweaters, they can be a bit pricey for some people (from around $20 – $70, depending on the style and embellishments). Sweaters that light up, spin, are 3D or “above and beyond” just a regular sweater are on the higher end.

UglyChristmasSweaters.com also carries other items like ugly jackets and ugly leggings.

If you are interested in seeing what the brand has to offer, visit UglyChristmasSweater.com. The brand can also be found on social media. All of their links are found on the top of their website.

What do you think of the creative and unique sweaters from this brand? Are you in need of an ugly Christmas sweater for yourself this year?

Unique Halloween costumes for the whole family

Our daughter when she stopped liking liking to wear “cute” Halloween costumes.

I miss going Halloween costume shopping with our kids. When they were little we were able to sway them into getting the costumes that WE liked and that WE thought were cute. The older then got, the more opinions they had on the costumes they wanted to wear. Instead of cute costumes, they wanted more creepy ones.

Even though our kids are young adults, and have not been trick-or-treating in years, my husband and I still enjoy checking out Halloween costumes when we’re in the stores.

I enjoy dressing up and often will dress up just to greet the trick-or-treaters at our door. I also work in the school district, so I’ll dress up for Halloween to go to work too. The last few years I’ve been a butterfly. Its time to change it up a bit.

Many places that sell Halloween costumes tend to sell the same ones (or different variations of them). I prefer unique costumes. I don’t want to look like everyone else.

Years ago, when our kids were little, we went to Disney World for Halloween. The kids were able to dress in costumers and get candy from around the park. Our daughter wanted to be a princess, our son couldn’t care less what he was (he was two at the time).

We dressed our daughter up as a chocolate chip cookie and our son went as a cow with the words “Got Milk?” on the front of his costume. They were a hit! So many people stopped us to compliment our kids on having different and unique costumes. All the kids at the park were Disney characters or Princesses – our kids were the ones that stood out (in a good way).

Check out these fun and unique costumes for adults and children.

Average Joe’s Dodgeball uniforms

Pinky Pie from My Little Pony (Child’s costume)

PJ Masks (Child’s Costume)

“Ride on” costumes for both children and adults (pictured are adult ones)

Katy Perry’s shark costume. This would also make a hilarious “Baby Shark” costume to go along with the song.

Wayne’s World – talk about a “blast from the past.”

These are just some of the fun costumes found at TVStoreOnline.net. They have Halloween and Cosplay costumes for infants, children, men and women. They even carry plus sizes, which I was personally thrilled about since I am a plus size lady.

TVStoreOnline.net reached out to me. I was looking for a new Halloween costume, so they sent me one to review. It took some time to narrow down my choices (I had several that I really liked). I finally settled on the Women’s Cozy Lady Bat Costume. I chose it because lately, Halloween has been cold here in N.Y. This costume is essentially a hoodie, so I know it would keep me warm. Plus I can easily take it off and put it back on if need be (like if we’re doing a messy project at school).

This really nice hoodie features “wings” sewn in to the underside of the arms, a front zipper, and a fuzzy hood with sewn on “ears.”

The model on the website is wearing it as a dress. That is fine if you have the figure for it. But I would recommend that you wear something underneath it, after all, it’s a hoodie. I would recommend shorts, leggings, pants or at the very least stockings. I had planned on wearing a black shirt and black leggings.

This costume is made exceptionally well. The ears and wings are sewn on beautifully. There is no way they are coming off.

This is a very heavy sweatshirt/hoodie too. If you live in a hot area of the country I wouldn’t recommend this costume ONLY BECAUSE it’s a thick, heavy material. For areas like the Northeast where it does get cold on Halloween night, this costume is sure to keep you cozy and warm.

I checked the measurements and ordered a size 2x (which seemed to be around my measurements). I was so excited to try it on when I received it. To my surprise it was too small/tight on me, even though the tag clearly says 2x. I guess this particular costume runs a bit on the small side.

Sewn on fuzzy/furry ear.

Sewn on wings made from the same material as the hoodie/sweatshirt.

I’m sad. I was really looking forward to wearing this costume this year. But that’s OK. I’m in the process of losing weight, so there is always next year. Honestly, if I was about 10-20 pounds lighter this would fit me just fine. I’d like to think that by this time next year I will have lost that weight.

TVStoreOnline.com has so much more to offer than just Halloween costumes. They carry a fun assortment of products from movies, television, comics, music and more.

Check out just a few of the cool products you can get from TVStoreOnline.net.

Steven Universe Cheeseburger Backpack

Dukes of Hazard toy car set

National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation t-shirt (I have a relative that has a green on like this. LOVE IT!).

Central Perk mug from the series Friends.

NCIS hat

A singing “Soft Kitty” from the Big Bang Theory

A Mike Tyson temporary face tattoo just like the one he has on his face.

TVStoreOnline.com has a lot of fun things, not only for yourself, but also for gifts for family and friends. With the holiday season fast approaching, this would be a fun site to shop on to get the perfect gift for that hard to buy person on your holiday shopping list.

Save money on back to school shopping with Fruit of the Loom value packs

Most people are sad to say “good bye” to summer. Not me personally (I’m not a fan of summer, I love autumn more), but many other people are, most especially children. It’s back to school season, the most dreaded time of the year for many children.

Our children are young adults now, but they are returning to college next week. We don’t do back to school shopping for them like we used to. Instead of buying them pencils, pens and notebooks we’re buying them (overpriced) text books and parking permits. Sigh…

Just the other day my husband and I were in Walmart where we were faced with very long lines because many families were there doing their back to school shopping. We both commented on how much we missed that with our own children. It was actually fun taking them school shopping and seeing the excitement on their faces when they picked up a brand new backpack and we purchased their “official” first day of school outfit.

Back to school shopping is also an expensive endeavor. Those supplies really add up, especially with today’s shopping lists. Gone are the days of a few pencils and lose leaf paper. These days you need several boxes of tissues, sandwich and freezer bags, super expensive calculators and much, much more. I totally understand that it helps out the teacher. Teacher’s are certainly underappreciated and deserve all the help they can get in the classroom. It’s just that it all really adds up and it can be hard for people living on a tight budget.

Thank goodness for Fruit of the Loom value packs. Not only are they affordable, but they also provide you with extra pairs of underwear.

Having extra underwear for children can come in handy, because let’s face it, “accidents” happen.

Last year in the Kindergarten program I worked in we had two students who had accidents often. One student went “number one” in her underwear at least a few times a week (she did it intentionally – she didn’t want to be in school, she wanted to be home with her mom), and a young boy who went “number two” in his underwear at least once a week (he was too lazy to go to the bathroom – ugh!). Thank goodness their parents packed extra underwear in their backpacks.

Occasionally other students would get went clothes. For example, once someone spilled milk all over their pants. They didn’t have a change of clothes or underwear so we had to rely on extras we had in the classroom.

If you have a young one I would certainly recommend packing an extra pair of underwear and clothes in their backpacks just in case.

Fruit of the Loom men’s boxer briefs TEN PACK!

Fruit of the Loom offers value packs that come with an extra pair or two of underwear or undershirts for not only children, but also adults. They even have plus size value packs, which is great for me.

Fruit of the Loom value packs are also a great way to stick to a budget but also get the necessities that you need.

Myself, my husband and our grown son all have new Fruit of the Loom underwear that are value packs. My husband and son have awesome 10-pack value packs of men’s boxer/brief underwear. Ten pairs! That is plenty of underwear for them to wear. As for me, I have a 5 pair value pack. Normally there are four pair to a pack, but the value pack comes with five pair of underwear. Nice!

Instead of four, this Fruit of the Loom women’s value pack has five pair of underwear.

Fruit of the Loom is also the brand of undergarments that we wear most often because they are always a great value and are made exceptionally well. They last a long time.

You can find Fruit of the Loom value packs at many retail locations across the country. As you are doing your back to school shopping, be sure to keep an eye out for them. And remember, they are not only for kids. Adults can take advantage of the awesome value packs too.

For more information about Fruit of the Loom visit Fruit.com. The brand can also be found on social media. All of their links are found at the bottom of their website.

Are you a fan of Fruit of the Loom products? Have you picked up any of their value packs?
