Check out PLAYMOBIL: The Movie Del’s Food Truck

PLAYMOBIL: The Movie, is coming to theaters across the country TODAY (December 6, 2019).

I have not had the opportunity to see the movie yet. Between all the holiday goings on, it’s hard to find time to go to the movies. If I don’t get the chance to see it before it’s no longer in theaters, I’ll keep an eye out for it when it’s released on digital.

Here is what I know about the movie, based on the film’s synopsis I’ve found online.

Playmobil The Movie follows the adventures of siblings Charlie (Gabriel Bateman) and Marla (Anya Taylor-Joy). When the former unexpectedly disappears into the animated universe of Playmobil, Marla must go on a quest to bring him home. During her adventures she teams up with some unlikely new friends, including smooth-talking food truck driver Del (Jim Gaffigan), dashing and charismatic secret agent Rex Dasher (Daniel Radcliffe), a wholehearted misfit robot and an extravagant fairy-godmother (Meghan Trainor). Adam Lambert voices the character of villain Emperor Maximus.

I’ve always loved Playmobil sets. I had a few sets when I was younger (back in the “Stone Age,” ha ha). I personally feel like the sets have improved so much over the year. They have always been awesome, but now they are even better.

I have been fortunate to review some really fun sets over the years. You can check them out by searching for Playmobil in the search bar on my site.

Most recently I reviewed a fun Christmas set and Advent Calendar. Prior to that I review a few plays sets based on the show Spirit.

I was fortunate to be sent a fun play set based on the new film. It’s called the PLAYMOBIL: The Movie Del’s Food Truck

Coming to Marla’s rescue, she soon convinces Del to help her find her brother, Charlie. Using the food truck, Del whips up some spicy burritos to catch a villain. Just a pinch of sleeping serum should do the trick. Defeating multiple villains, Del and Marla work together, racing through the PLAYMOBIL Worlds to try to locate Charlie. Set includes Del, Marla, menu board, table, burritos, magical hay, and other accessories.

This set took about an hour to put together. It might have took less time, but trying to put something like this together with two kittens trying desperately to make all the pieces THEIR toys, it made putting the truck together a little tricky.

There are a lot of accessories with this set that don’t need to be assembled, except for a few stickers here and there.

There is A LOT of detail to this food truck. I have not seen the movie, yet, but I can only assume the phone on the dashboard and the shower in the back, all have to do with the movie.

You can see the shower in the above photo. My apologies for the bad interior photos. I don’t know if it was my phone or lighting, but they didn’t turn out that good.

Here is the interior of the food truck as seen from above.

Below are a few other interior photos.

I’ve seen food trucks before. In fact, I reviewed a PLAYMOBIL ice cream truck many years ago. They always come with plenty of accessories and great detail inside the truck. This is the first time I’ve seen a shower in a truck.

Making this play set even more fun is the addition of the play food. The burritos are so funny! But in a good way, of course. At first I thought they were newspapers (not having seen the film as of yet). It wasn’t until I looked at them closer that I realized they were burritos.

The burgers are really cute too.

They are plenty of food pieces and tools (including a tool box) to provide your child with hours of interactive fun.

Here are just some of the accessories. Not everything you receive in this set it pictured here.

I think Del is cute with his flip flops. His flip flops are removable too.

You can remove the top part of the front of the truck to place Del and Marla (or other PLAYMOBIL people) in the front seat. There is also a corded phone they can make phone calls with. I guess they don’t own smartphones. Ha Ha.

Overall I think this is a fun play set. PLAYMOBIL put a lot of detail into these pieces, the same as other play sets they offer.

Even if your child has not yet seen the film, I think he/she would still have a lot of fun playing with this set.

You can learn more about this set on the PLAYMOBIL website, PLAYMOBIL.us (notice that it’s .us and not .com).

This set is available at many retail locations across the country. I see that it’s available at Walmart, Target and Amazon, to name a few.
