I’m not sure what the weather is like in your “neck of the woods,” but here in New York it’s been dark and gloomy. I’m so over and done with winter. I don’t mind snow (except driving in it), but I don’t like how it’s always overcast and dreary. I suffer from S.A.D. too (seasonal affective disorder), so that doesn’t help the situation either.
I’m already looking forward to spring time and Easter. I want to see blue skies, 60 degree weather, flowers blooming and bird singing.
Speaking of flowers, I love to keep flowers around my home, even in the winter months. Bright, colorful flowers make me happy.
Having eight (yes, eight) cats, I have to be extra careful about the plants and flowers I bring into my home. Not only do I not want to bring in anything toxic, but I also have to worry about our two youngest ones who love to chew on everything (we had to “baby proof” our home for them).
I can’t keep a plant or flower alive – ever. There is just something about me and plants that don’t mesh well. I always try my best, including doing my research and following care directions to a tee, but something always happens and the plant ends up dying. For that reason, as well as keeping things safe for our cats, I decorate my home with fake plants.
I have reviewed the brand FreshCut Paper in the past. The brand makes the most beautiful, and realistic looking, bouquet cards. These are not your typical cards. They are HUGE cards that turn into 3D bouquets that can be displayed and enjoyed year-round.
You can check out some of my previous reviews here – Send Flowers that Last Forever This Valentines Day via Amazon, and Give them the Christmas card they won’t soon forget.
FreshCut Paper has some new card offerings that are not only ideal to bring some “sping time” into your home, but they also make outstanding Valentine’s Day cards.
The brand was kind enough to send me a few of their new designs to check out.
Each FreshCut Paper card comes in a ready to mail envelope. All you need to do is address it and take it to the post office for proper postage.
So you don’t have to ruin the FreshCut Paper card with your special message to the recipient, each FreshCut Paper cards comes with a matching, smaller card that you can tuck inside. That way you can send along a special message too.
Each card arrives flat. Once out of the envelope all you need to do it “pop” it up and you have a beautiful, realistic looking plant/flower to enjoy for years to come.
One of my all time favorite flowers are lilacs. I LOVE the lilac scent. Growing up I had a few lilac bushes outside my bedroom window. When they were in bloom the fragrance would fill my bedroom – it was AMAZING.
Living on a top floor condo, having a “yard” that is actually a 6′ x 12′ balcony, I am unable to keep a lilac bush (I wish!). Thanks to FreshCut Paper, I can now bring my favorite flowers into my home.
You can see in the above photo the flatten version of the lilac plant (in a pretty container), along with the matching card you can write your personal message on for the recipient.
Once you pop the card up you are left with a stunning, realistic looking container of colorful lilacs.
Up close you can see that they are not real, but from across the room it’s hard to tell (no kidding).
I keep this lilac card from FreshCut Paper on my television stand. I look at it every day. I am head-over-heels in love with this. As long as my cats don’t decide to chew on it, I plan on keeping this out year round (except when I decorate for Halloween and Christmas).
Another card I received to review that is also new this year is the brand’s Bonsai tree.
My husband has always wanted a Bonsai tree. He’s even done research on the different types and how to care for them. Sadly, many of them are toxic for animals. Not only that, we worry that the cats might chew on it. For that reason we don’t own any. Thanks to FreshCut Paper, now we have a Bonsai tree!
The above is not the best picture (the color is off and there is a glare from the light from the window). It’s so much nicer in real person.
I love that the brand also included the little house (?) embellishment to add to the appeal of the design.
From a distance, this looks like a real Bonsai tree. My husband loves it.
The other card I received to review that is new this year is the brand’s Cherry Blossom bouquet in a vase. This is a larger card compared to other cards from FreshCut Paper. You can see the envelope sizes in one of the above photos. The Cherry Blossom is the larger, pink one.
I’m not sure what that postage would be in it, but when you think about the cost of sending an actual bouquet that will end up dying in a week (if that), paying a few dollars for postage is a better deal.
Just like with the other cards, this arrives flat (with an included card you can personalize). Once it’s popped up, this makes a beautiful decoration for your home.
I keep this on an entry way table. I sometimes do a “double take” because it looks so real.
FreshCut Cards sell for only $12.00. There are a few that are up to $29.00, but for the most part they are $12.00, including the large Cherry Bloom card (pictured above).
Not only are FreshCut Paper cards extra special (better than your typical card), and long lasting (unlike real floral bouquets), the brand also plants a tree for each product sold. Their products are also made out of 100% recyclable paper.
With Valentine’s Day right around the corner, a card from FreshCut Paper would make a great gift. It would be an unexpected surprise for the recipient, and budget friendly for you too.
These cards are great for the elderly and shut-ins who might not be able to tend to a living plant too.
