One of my most favorite things about blogging (aside from all the friends I’ve made over the years), is having the opportunity to learn about brands and products I might not otherwise get to know about.
Some of my favorite things to review are beauty products. The older I get, the more I want to take care of my face and body as much as possible. I regret each and every day for not taking my beauty to heart when I was younger. I should have been cleaning and moisturizing every day, using sunscreen every day, and using other products to help my skin look and feel it’s best. If I could go back in time, that is one of the things I would tell my self – take beauty habits seriously (especially sunscreen).
I was sent to review some products from the brand Cocokind.
Cocokind takes beauty products seriously. They conduct extensive research on all of the ingredients used in their products to ensure that they meet their strict efficacy, safety, and sustainability standards. Many of their products use organic ingredients too. Their products are also formulated without gluten or peanuts, for those who have those allergies.
Most importantly (for me) is that their products are cruelty free. They even use bee products derived from organic beekeeping where the ethical treatment of the bees is practiced and applied when sourcing our beeswax.
I was sent the following products to review.
An oil cleanser that you can actually wash off! this gentle cleanser transforms into milk upon contact with water, leaving skin soft, replenished, and hydrated.
I am a firm believer in having a cleanser that really works, without stripping your skin of natural oils that keep it from drying out.
I was a bit concerned about this product when I read that it was an oil cleanser. I don’t have oily skin (thankfully), but I didn’t want to end up with oily skin if I used this product. Thankfully my concerns were for naught.
You “activate” this product with just a little water on your hand. You barely need any water to be honest.
To use, simply wet your hand, add about a dime size amount of product (more or less depending on your personal preference), rub your hands/fingers together, then gently apply to your face. Rinse off with water.
I like how smooth and creamy this product is. It not oily like you would expect. It’s actually very creamy. I like that.
This product does a great job removing make up. My skin feels really clean (like I just stepped out of the shower) after I rinse my face. I like that.
Sometimes when I clean my face it feels tight and/or dry afterwards, prompting me to quickly apply a moisturizing product. I did not experience that with this product. I did use moisturizer and some other products afterwards (my normal night time routine), but you could probably go without using anything after you wash your face with this cleanser.
This vegan, petrochemical-free balm offers nourishing hydration anywhere you need it – hands, feet, lips, cuticles, or any other stubborn dry spots.
Cocokind donates 5% of ALL online sales of our one-for-all balm to One Tree Planted (a nonprofit that plants a tree for every dollar raised) and another 5% to the Loveland Foundation (an organization works to bring opportunity, empowerment, and healing to communities of color, particularly Black women and girls.
I love that some of the proceeds from the sale of this product goes towards charity.
I LOVE this product. So much so that I’m pretty much done with the entire tube.
This product is for dry skin from head to toe. You can use it on your face, hands, feet, or just about any where else you need moisturizing.
I’ve been using this primarily on my dry, cracked heels and my hands. I’ve also used it here and there for other dry spots on my body.
This product is think, and a little bit goes a long way.
You will have to work the product into your skin, and give it a bit of time to absorb into your skin. If you plan on using this on your feet, I recommend either putting a pair of cotton socks on your feet afterwards, or putting this product on when you are physically in bed. The product can make your feel slippery until it absorbs.
If you put this product on in bed, there is no need to wash your hands afterwards. Simply rub the excess into your hands to keep them looking good too.
I even got my husband using this product on his dry hands and feet too. He has a spot on one of his knuckles that is always dry and cracked. He’s used prescription medication on it that the dermatologist prescribed to him. This product works BETTER than the prescription product. Even better, the ingredients in this product are better than the ingredients in the prescribed product, which we can’t pronounced or even know what it is.
Chlorophyll Mask
Clarify, soothe, and brighten the look of dull skin with this customizable, complexion-boosting face mask.
Admittedly I’ve only used this product. I’m not a big fan of masks. I don’t really know why. I guess because I find them very messy to use, and I don’t like sitting around with stuff drying on my face.
This product comes in a powder form. You need to mix the powder with water, then apply it to your face. Once applied, you can leave it on your face for 10-20 minutes, then wash it off with warm water.
I did think my face felt nice after I used this product, but I wasn’t a fan of the mess I made out of it. Because it’s a powder, and you “mix” it with water, it can get messy. I think I had more product on the skin than I did my face. That’s why I only used this product once.
I wish I could provide you with more feedback about this product. It just wasn’t for me, but if you are a fan of masks, by all means, give this one a try. If it’s anything like the other Cocokind products I’ve tried, I’m sure this product can be amazing.
